While disabled veterans, many with severe brain injuries and post-traumatic stress, continue to wait for compensation, Veteran’s Affairs bureaucrats are raking in the dough. Staffers in the Department of Veterans Affairs have been reaping millions of dollars in bonuses despite a huge backlog of cases that has veterans waiting hundreds of days for compensation. The bonuses were reported Monday by journalism project News21, whose findings were published in The Washington Post. The report said that in 2011, more than two-thirds of claims processors received a total of $5.5 million in bonuses. That same year, the backlog of claims swelled by 155 percent. Veterans who file a disability claim today will have to wait for a year or longer to get the benefits they earned and need. Only in the government can you receive a bonus while wounded veterans wait for their compensation and major backlog problems continue. Back-long claims are sitting at nearly 600,000. These aren’t just numbers, these backlogs have real life, serious and long-term consequences for veterans and their families.

Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday laid out the rationale for a U.S. attack on Syria, vowing there would be “consequences” for what he deemed an “undeniable” chemical weapons attack by Syria’s government. “The president will be making an informed decision about how to respond to this indiscriminate use of chemical weapons,” Kerry said. “But make no mistake: President Obama believes there must be accountability for those who would use the world’s most heinous weapons against the world’s most vulnerable people. “Nothing today is more serious, and nothing is receiving more serious scrutiny.”

Tell me do ya think these people are lying??? Have they proved to be trust worthy??

Really hate how disabled vets like myself get paid crap while the dems cry the same amount we get isn't enough for the welfare deadbeats to live off and and need more. But then of course Obama looks at lowering the COLA for us as well by recaulculating it with much worse numbers.

Currently a 100% disabled vet with a spouse and 2 kids gets just barely over $3k a month. That's $36k-$37k a year matter where you live in the US. Yes they get free medical care as a Vet (which the Dems want to change and have been working to lessen it). Yet teacher's today get far better pensions and salaries, same for other government workers. But the soldiers who put their lines on the line and were injured due to defending their country are worth $17 an hour.
