According to EL UNIVERSAL newspaper (http://www.eluniversal.com.mx/nacion/vi_161666.html) acts of
corruption in the public service sector increased by 82 million instances on the federal, state and local government levels from 2005 to 2007. The cost to Mexico is about $60 billion per year.

This belies the claims by the current government that they are making progress in this respect. All they seem to be doing is sending all the angry voters and potential protesters to the US for care-taking by US taxpayers. This is a win-win for Mexico: get rid of the disaffected while benefitting from their remittances back to the Mexican economy. The article claims that this corruption generates a credibility issue for the Mexican state.... no kidding!

So where are the Mexican citizens, dual citizens, to fix their system? The "American Dream" is what we want them to import, not our jobs and tax dollars....... Alas, the path of least resistance is the hapless US taxpayer
