The Whole Mosque Mess (my take)
Let's face it,
To want to build a mosque two blocks from ground zero is nothing but crass, asinine and
shows a complete lack of respect for those who were killed on 9/11. But legally I don't think
we can prevent it and to tell the truth I don't think we should, it's just not the American
way. We believe in freedom of religion and in certain rights when it comes to private and
public property. Should we fight them every step of the way? You bet your bottom dollar
we should. We should let them know that we're simply not going to lay down and let them
walk over us and desecrate what we consider sacred ground.
We're not stupid, we know when our buttons are being pushed.
This would be just as ridiculous as building a Shinto shrine next the Battleship Arizona
monument or a Mexican consulate inside of the Alamo, or displaying the Enola Gay at the
Hiroshima Peace Memorial...it's just wrong!
But we must consider the source, does anybody remember the six imams that showed up
at an airport in Pheonix in Arab garb and proceeded to scare the living daylights out of the
general public? Those guys had an agenda, to stir up hate and discontent and call it
racism. They used our own fears against us in a tasteless way. It was an attempt to shake
up our system and some even think it was intended to spy on our security and was a "dry
run" meant to wake up the dogs to see which ones barked.
The ground zero mosque is another tasteless attempt at using our system against us. It's
a win-win situation for the muslim imams. If they get it built they can certainly use it to
gloat over their attack at ground zero and if they loose they can use it against us to say
how intolerant we are against other religions and cultures.
I say let them have their mosque (wait hear me out on this). Fight them every step of the
way, don't make it easy for them but in the end, let them have their way. You see the
people behind this seem to underestimate the American people especially New Yorkers.
Let them build their mosque and we can do do everything possible to make their lives there
miserable. First we should start calling it the Obama Mosque. If he's so proud of it lets put
the embarrasment solely on his shoulders by reminding him on every opportunity what a
sell out he is to his own country.
Once it's built we set up hot dog stands right on the front steps selling hot dogs with extra
bacon and ham and call em "Allah dogs".
Set up a huge bill board right across the street, one of those electronic puppys and have it
continously flash up pictures of the victims of 9/11 interspersed with Christian passages
from the Bible or have it show cartoon drawings of Mohammad all day long.
Block off the street and make parking and access to the mosque as difficult as possible.
Declare the whole block a free speech zone and have daily protests. Nothing says "I love
you" like a bunch of pissed off Tea Partiers on your front step, just ask congress.
Have something stinky built down wind, a paper plant is particulaly nasty.
Oh! I know!! How about a pork processing plant!! And be sure to set up a row of porta
potties for the protesters just outside the front door.
Have a band of bagpipers show up every day right at prayer time and play Amazing Grace
at the top of their lungs, ad-nausium, all through their prayer sessions, or a squad of fire
trucks parked outside with their sirens going full blast.
Have some fun and try to come up with your own ideas on how to make the imam's feel
welcome at ground zero.
Let them have their mosque, show them how "tolerant" we are. Certainly far more tolerant
than they are in their own culture but we can also let them know that we the people won't
put up with any crap. It won't take long before they decide it's not worth it and go
somewhere else.
DefIf the race card is the only card in your hand, you're not playing with a full deck.
