Why apologize for enforcing our laws?
Why apologize for enforcing our laws?
last updated: August 27, 2007 03:39:24 AM
In response to all the dialogue about illegal immigrants, I make a simple statement: Immigration laws should be observed and applied until they are changed. Stop implying that America should apologize for standing as a sovereign nation, a nation built on laws governing and guaranteeing our citizenship.
In 1907, Theodore Roosevelt wrote: "We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else. ...
"But, this is predicated upon the person becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but American. There can be no divided allegiance here. ...
"We have room for but one flag, the American flag; we have room for but one language here, and that is the English language; and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is loyalty to the American people."

According to the other side, we are racist, xenophobes for enforcing our immigration laws. Of course they fail to ackowledge just how racist their agenda is.

The last time I looked, one of the illegals' slogans was, "For the Race, everything; for those outside the Race, nothing!" Then we have La Raza, and no matter what they say, we all know that every Spanish-to-English dictionary translates "raza" as "race". Care to tell me which side has the REAL racists? From where I sit, it looks like the racists are on the other side. Oh well, La Raza, there's nothing like demonizing your opposition by calling us what you are yourselves!
We have nothing to apologize for, whether it's enforcing our laws, or calling out the Latino racists for what they are!__________________________________________________ ___________________________________
