Why this conservative will support Trump!


I guess I have to lay out my conservative credentials, since conservatism seems to be a word and ideology that is lost, misunderstood, and thus claimed by men whose policies are not conservative.

My conservatism is rooted in the Christian Bible, American history, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. I am a capitalist who opposes Obama Care, welfare, affirmative action, “free trade,” (NAFTA, TPP, globalism), open borders. I am Pro Life, Pro Second Amendment, Pro States Rights, Pro the right of secession. I oppose a one world government, the New World Order, an empowered United Nations, national atheism and secular humanism. I believe in the sovereignty of God, that our rights do come from the Creator not the Supreme Court or any other man or woman. I oppose the immorality that has been legalized in this nation during my lifetime; that includes legalized gambling, legalized prostitution in Nevada, Gay Rights, de-criminalized drug use.

I have been a lifelong disciple of Pat Buchanan! I do believe there is an ongoing Culture War within the Untied States – that the Left is attempting to re-write American history, and replace a Christian Providential world view with secular humanist – socialist world view.

Someone this weekend asked me “what is freedom?” My answer to that it is: to live in a nation where the potential and purpose of an individual, given by God, is allowed to, encouraged to, come to full fruition based on the choices and efforts of the individual! The nation, the state and the community should be an environment where God is ever present, the reasons for all laws, and which guides us in all our thinking. I want the original America, the America of the founders where Christianity was daily evident, and where you could not hold office without swearing allegiance to God.

I want an America where the federal government is very limited in its responsibilities and powers. I want an America where the state controls most domestic policy, where states can be significantly different from one another. I want an America where Americans worry about here, not there.

There is enough meat above for my opponents to chew on for months.
Ok, why and how do I support Donald Trump?

Let me start by saying my first choice for President is Sarah Palin, my second choice Ted Cruz. In fact a Cruz campaign sign is still up on my property. So I am not a Trumpster…and in fact have written very critical pieces about Donald Trump on this site.


MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

The essence of my support for Donald Trump rests in his unabashed pro American, nationalist agenda.

I have read Trump’s foreign policy speech and support its tenets completely. I do believe we need to build a wall, and more, hire the man power to enforce our southern border. I do believe illegal immigration must stop, and that the government needs to be able to control who comes in and goes out. I believe sanctuary cities are breaking the law, that their office holders should be arrested as criminals, and that all federal funds should cease to go to those cities until their laws are in compliance with American law.

I believe America should stop importing all foreigners, til we get our immigration system under control and re-assert the assimilation process necessary for healthy immigration.

I believe America is an ally of Israel, and should not facilitate Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
I believe in American commercial self – sufficiency, that the way to ignite the American economy is to make “Made in America” the best advertisement for any good, service or product. I do believe in protectionism and while Trump does not, his policies are clearly pro American. I believe America’s first economic priority should be to re-take the American marketplace with American made goods and American owned companies.
I believe the American news industry has betrayed its Constitutional duties and is now a propaganda arm of the Left, and I very much appreciate Donald Trump’s direct challenge to those who falsely report the news.

I do believe the world is very different now and that America does not need to be in NATO as a major contributor. The world has to end its dependency on the U.S., grow up and take care of themselves. European socialism has prospered at the expense of American capitalism.

I do believe Islam is an aggressive, violent ideology that challenges both Christianity and the western world. I believe Islam is the most serious foreign threat to the United States.

I do not appreciate Donald Trump’s crude personal style, but his policies are strikingly different from our present course and ones I do support. I do think Trump’s bold assertion of nationalism and capitalism is what is needed, and that his stark difference, in terms of his personality and presentation style, really fits the stark contrast of what he proposes as policy to what presently exists.

No matter how you want to be critical of our choices, the bottom line is there is a stark absolute difference between Hillary and Donald. If you like the past seven years vote Hillary. If you think we are headed in the wrong direction, vote Trump.

Trump actually is a protectionist. He says he's a free trader but that is really a reference to free enterprise. Many people use the terms interchangeably when they are really 2 different things. In fact the other day, apparently someone has mentioned that to him, in his speech in either Tampa or Pittsburgh, maybe both, he said "I don't care what people want to call it, free trade, fair trade, protected trade, etc, etc. I want good trade deals, deals that benefit our country and are still okay for the other one."

Nice post. We agree on many things, not all though. I'm pro-choice and support gay rights, but on our economy, security, borders, jobs and to me the really important national issues that impact every American, I agree with the author 100%.

I appreciate the time and thought he spent writing the article. We're Americans, we don't have to agree on everything, especially social issues because when you're free you can choose your own lifestyle, but when it comes to our nation, our economy, our jobs, our borders, our sovereignty, to me these things are non-negotiable, because they determine whether or not our nation will continue to exist, so on those Americans must overlook their other differences and disagreements and unite behind Trump.

Otherwise, no American will have a job, and every town and city will have a Boston Marathon Bomber, a Fort Hood Shooter, a San Bernardino Shooter and now an Orlando Shooter. And they won't all be Muslims. They'll be whatever from wherever, and like the victims of these cities, we won't even see them coming.

Wake Up America. Unite.
