I love that Judy at least a Jackass will listen and do what you want him to do.It amazes me why they dont want to tax they riches of the riches to pay their fair share.The middle class working people always has to pay more than their fair share while they make billons with loop holes and tax credits and pay nothing.My wife and i paid over 8,ooo.oo dallors this tear in taxes,while the big oil and big corps. paid nothing.I support the dems on this we need to make the millonairs pay their fair share why should they live here for free when we as middle class have to sacrafice to pay for everything so the rich and illegals live the life of luxury in our (rich middle class and poor)country.

You're exactly right about the Jackass. We used to have Donkey Basketball once a year in my hometown, and I know from participating in that event that the Jackass is way smarter than most of our US politicians.

As to the taxes, that's why I support the FairTax. There's been a great deal of misinformation disseminated about it by the Anti-FairTax lobby which includes a lot of rich folks and a significant number of our major corporations.

The small businesses support the FairTax but the majors are either silent or part of the Anti-FairTax Lobby because it cuts globalism's heart out. The FairTax stops globalism by taxing illegal aliens in the country at the full rate without offset with the rebate for necessities because they aren't eligible for it, and it stops free trade untaxed imports cold because the FairTax taxes new products and services used for non-business purposes the same, whether produced here or imported. So, imports will be taxed at the same federal tax rate as domestic products for the first time in our history.

These are huge new sources of revenue that at the same time provide a comparative advantage to American Workers and an equal advantage to domestic producers which ends illegal aliens earning wages and salaries and filing returns for tax credit welfare and foreign producers shipping their goods into our market, selling them tax-free and undercutting our businesses.

As to taxing corporations, we have to remember that every dime of tax paid by a business or corporation is actually paid by their customers as part of the company's expenses that are included in their prices they pass off to consumers. We also need to remember that in 2008, the last real full year of our economy, corporations paid $230 billion in corporate income tax and $475 billion in Social Security and MediCare taxes, for a total of $700 billion in federal corporate income and payroll taxes. They also paid some corporate excise fees and duties and a few other taxes, which again are all passed on to the consumer who actually pays it all.

At the same time individuals paid $1.2 trillion in individual income tax and $475 billion in SS and MediCare payments for a total of $1.675 trillion which includes all the profits paid by corporations to their shareholders and all the earnings by privately held companies that are not incorporated as corporations but operate as limited liability companies, general partnerships, SUB S corporations and sole proprietorships. And that's just federal tax.

If we taxed our corporations at 100%, we'd only pick up another $700 billion, which would destroy our business community and still wouldn't be enough to balance the budget. The oil companies didn't pay any tax last year because they didn't earn any net income they retained as profit. But in 2008, Exxon alone paid $30 billion in federal income tax plus its share of payroll taxes.

The FairTax legislation is HB 25 in the US House of Representatives with 62 sponsors.

Home foreclosures are still at historic highs. Of course the Jackasses would never think of clamping down on corrupt mortgage lenders and seizing their ill gotten gains or putting any one of them in jail for their corruption. That would be just too much to ask.

I just posted an article in Other Topics. What this administration has done is to partner with the banks holding foreclosures to give government first shot at buying foreclosure properties. Local governments, and through their "non-profit" buddies the HUD henchmen, will buy properties without having to bid. Banks will accept the low bids. Investors seeking to make profits on real estate will get hind teet.

I agree-Democrats are supposed to represent protecting the middle and lower clases anyway-so why is our Democrat president cowering before the "mighty Elephant" who is both pro-Big Business over the American People and no longer what it used to represent? It's one of the few things I agree with concerning the Democratic Party and it ticks me off when they won't even do that for us. I guess they want us (poor and middle classes) all to become home-bound, those of us who can't afford to pay even more for the currently ridiculous price of gas-instead of going ahead with the exploration of other energy sources like wind, steam and solar that would both alleviate environmental pollution and make us all independent from buying our fuel from countries that represent tyranny and terror.
