Why Politicians are more interested in the Latino Vote

It is called the swing vote. They know that 45% of the people will vote one way and 45% will vote the other way, it is the 10% that make the difference in who gets elected. The latino vote makes up the 10%, that is why their vote is more important to politicians than our vote.

If Caucasions would vote - We wouldn't need a swing vote to elect a candidate.

So we have to unite and get 80% of Americans on the same track. What these people are promoting is division instead of unity. 45% divided one way; 45% divided another direction.

Well right now we have 67% united on one thing and that is Bush's poor approval rating.

And according to the Zogby poll 64% united in favor of the House Bill 4437 over the Senate Bill.

So...we need a candidate that believes in the opposite of George Bush and supports HN 4437 to unite the country.

We need to comply a list of the politicians that support amnesty and a guest worker program, especially U.S. senators, since they have the deciding vote, but in the house, also state and local and pass this list on to educate the voters. Perhaps a list of those on capital hill that are oppose and in favor of amnesty should be posted on this board.

sawdust, actually the House can kill the Senate bill. The President can veto a bill without guest worker but then its still a deadlock.

The best people to concentrate on are the Congressmen. The Senate is too split, but the House majority already say they won't pass any guest worker.

The only way Jorge can get this through is strong arm the House or dissolve the Senate and House and become a dictator.

The illegals given amnesty will not comprise a swing vote. Their vote will be driven only by self interest. That is why the Democrats want to give them amnesty. They will vote in a block. Even Bush understands the inflexibility of voting blocks, he didn't even respond to the NAACP's invitation to speak at their convention. The democrats don't even pretend to court black voters any more they are just taken for granted . I wonder that they don't see this. The only thing the republicans can hope to gain from this is the opportunity to continue to feed at the corporate troughs.

I see so after the bill is voted on then it goes to the conference commitee and they come up with a version or comprimise of the house and senate bill, then the house could kill it when they vote on it again?
