Federal agents have arrested a Sugar Land woman, accusing her of bringing an Indonesian woman to the U.S. and forcing her to work as a servant with little or no pay, prosecutors said.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested Rozina Ali, 42, a lawful permanent resident from Malaysia, on Wednesday. The criminal complaint against Ali alleges that she confiscated a 32-year-old Indonesian woman's immigration papers, forced her to work long hours for little or no pay, beat her and told her she could not return to Indonesia.

In federal court in Houston on Thursday, Magistrate Judge Frances Stacy explained the allegations in the criminal complaint to Ali. She is scheduled to appear in court again today for a bond hearing. From Susan Carroll.

Ms. Ali, I've got news for you - here in the US we did away with slavery well over 100 years ago.
