I think the entire article should be posted and a link or at least a condensed version along with the link. I think the link gives the post some more credibility. I know I've read a couple of articles and said "you've got to be kidding" and clicked on the link to see if the article was real.

    What is BUMP?
Posting to move the article to the top of the forum page.

I was pm'd after my first post here, and imformed that the way posting is handled on this site, is to put the link as well as the entire article, as a courtesy for those with dial-up.
For longer articles, which we've been getting more of as people really start to dig in, It might be better to post the first few paragraphs, giving the reader the opportunity to decide if they want to peruse it further by clicking the link. We're trying to effect a policy that works for everyone, so please be patient with us.

    Thanx bunches

Another good thing would be to not quote the entire article when responding to a post that will save space and scrolling as well. These are all good ideas on this thread

Hey Pat, I did know what a 'bump' was - just because I asked some time ago - but I just figured out, a short time ago, what 'btt' meant .

So if I cut and paste the address into a different browser - what is the difference? I realize this isn't a place to educate me about computers - but wouldn't I still pick up a bug if it is there. Or does this pertain to the slow loading on my dial up?

And the idea of posting the link , plus the article or part of the article sounds like a good alternative for me. Just because, however, it is good for me doesn't necessarily mean it is good for everyone else.

    I'm learning.

the best example for both posting the LINK & article is that, without the article, some of us have so much up we can't put up yet another window.

Then we might not get to read the article. I've had to pass quite a few by due to a heavy work load and over abundance of windows.

*** an easy way to save room with the article is to put it in QUOTES after you've pasted it w/the LINK. That cuts down on scrolling time as well.

    Oh, oh...now I see

At first I didn't get you, but then realized that it makes the print smaller! Right?

not to worry! If not for my research buddies......I still wouldn't know what a MOUSE is

They taught me well, thankfully, and had more patience with my ignorance in the tech world. I know very little but am glad to share what I do know as I know how it feels re:FRUSTRATION
