Thread: Work Force Housing???

Barney Frank was just telling a reporter on CNBC that they will probably use part of the first $700 billion stimulus money to buy up foreclosed houses and use them for "work force" housing. What!! This sounds a lot like they intend to use these houses for cheap illegal alien labor. Also, don't forget that Bush just signed an order for "unlimited" foreign labor. We need to keep an eye on this.

Don't forget about obama's plans for Americans to participate in "mandatory community service" which is now supposed to include, work on the infrastructure as a priority as there can be no real economic recovery without a solid infrastructure.

If they think turning foreclosed houses into temporary worker housing is a good idea, they better think again. With no responsible landlord in place these houses will simply turn into insect-infested rotting shacks. How many "Obama volunteers" and forgiven border aliens are going to take care of these places? Anyone wanting extra money will strip out all of the copper, wiring and fixtures. These "social project" gruop homes will probably double as coyote drop off and drug dealer houses. I would imagine that some thugs and other forms of coerced violence will turn these "houses" into living hell for any well meaning American wanting to live there.

Sheesh. What a recipe for disaster.

Remember that the Soviet Union tried to do exactly the same mobile labor force idea and millions of innocent civilians were turned into slaves and gunned down by manchine gun toting soldiers.

Apparently, municipalities will get the funding to buy up these houses, then they can put whoever they want to in them.

It is a lot of nice sounding talk to other liberals who envision a socialistic society, but it will NEVER pass muster with well over 50%, plus, Americans, to be expected to leave college, jobs and family behind to work on government forced projects, amounts to nothing less than government slavery.

NO ONE in this family will participate, they can kiss me conservative, capitalist back end if they think they can force us to.

Of course turn all our neiborhoods into slums.This will drive down the value of everybody elses property.

I'm still waiting for them to enforce this one....

Lord what are they doing? I had heard about the volunteer services but thought it was for those who got government grants for school and such....as a pay back for the government free ride through college. I thought maybe it might develope into work done by people who were getting government assistance as a payback. I read in some state they were like hiring elderly to do office work and such in lew of property tax. It wasn't like it was pure volunteer work.....just work in lew of something else where no cash traded hands. Never heard anything about it going this far.
