Some rifle sales will be restricted by a new measure.President Barack Obama’s Administration implemented a measure on Monday that would require some States to report multiple sales of semiautomatic rifles to Federal authorities.
According to The Washington Post, http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11193/1159840-84.stm gun dealers in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California will have to alert the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) if an individual buys more than one semiautomatic rifle within five days. The rule applies to weapons with detachable magazines with a higher than .22 caliber.
The measure was implemented to stop gunrunning into Mexico, according to the newspaper.
Deputy Attorney General James Cole said that the measure will help authorities “detect and disrupt the illegal weapons trafficking networks responsible for diverting firearms from lawful commerce to criminals and criminal organizations.â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
