I will say, for the record

That I actually enjoy many parts of the Hispanic culture. I love the food, love the family oriented members. I love the way they take care of their elders in the hospital, and I love how hard they work. I can say that for the majority of them that I encounter in my daily life.

I think the Spanish language is a wonderful language, and many of its people are very beautiful, as are people of many ethnicities from all over the world. I like their ability to celebrate and have a good time.

HOWEVER, I still do not appreciate that many from the south American countries are coming across our borders illegally, not assimilating into OUR culture, refuse to learn English, are coming over in such large unsustainable numbers, and are demanding welfare and not paying taxes. I also do not appreciate any of the people from OTHER countries as well, who are doing the same.

So, please don't call me a racist. I appreciate people of all races and cultures. I personally enjoy traveling and have been fascinated by people from different lands and of different backgrounds. Always have been.

I believe we as Americans can learn from many aspects of your culture -- but please learn from us as well. We value OUR culture also. We value our History, our Past, our American way of life. This is as much of value to us as is YOUR culture. You are essentially trampling all over this when you come here illegally and demand assistance that I myself NEVER and WILL NEVER receive in life here in the U.S.

Ours is probably the ONLY country in the world that has such a high tolerance for so many cultures and ethnicities. BUT IT DOES NOT MEAN that we don't also have our OWN equally important and viable culture. It's not just one of Hollywood and the movies... to many of us it's a varied way of life, one of setting dreams and goals, and reaching them while we live and give back to our communities. We do this against a background of fierce pride in our country and its struggles, and how it came to be so strong.

So, dont' trample on it. It's sacred to me, and to others. It was fought and paid for through the blood of many. Our right to vote is precious to us. You don't become and American overnight -- it takes time and effort to learn what America is all about and if you don't love it as much as I do, you need to think about why you're really here.

    In Short, I heard you saying, and the way I would to phrase it is;

I treat a Person, or a Group of People the way they treat me. PERIOD.

Everything else you may bring up is justification to that statement.

You mean well but your words mean nothing to these foreign born. You may as well talk to the wind. Its sad, but they don't agree with you. They're set in their ways and hostile to change. Only enforcement of ours laws will make this tolerable. And whatever you say will be twisted to mean something else.

Because we are fair, many foreigners see it as weakness and stupidy. USA_born you are so right, only enforcement will work.

Yes, you are probably right. Enforcement is the only way. Many of these people are here to take, not give, and whatever we give, they will only ask for more.

But I just get sick of being called a racist. It's a cowardly and dishonest cry.

Our generosity and kindness have been manipulated and abused. Now we have lost our stature in the world, because no country can remain sovereign if it does not control illegal entry.

Greed, decadence and political correctness will lead to the demise of this country. We are running out of time. If we don't control this illegal invasion pronto, we will have forever lost our country. Defeat is not an option!

jjmm we are Americans, no one has the right to call us anything. If they call us names, it's spoiled sportsmanship because we have always been the most generous and caring. And as we can all clearly see, our generosity is not appreciated by many. C'est la Vie!

I agree, we have as much chance at getting Al Quata seeing things our way as we do at getting the illegal aliens to agree and go home. Force is the only way. Force on the battlefield with Al Quata, and Enforce(ing) our laws with the aliens. They are both a battle at holding on to our way of life, and without any outside demands telling us how we should be. The sad thing is that they both feel justified in taking it, and really feel it’s their right. Let’s just pray it stays only one battlefield.

    jjmm,
Still a beautiful statement, and a good reminder of the culture we are trying to retain.
