Thread: Hey Bubba, How are ya doin ??!

Dear President Bush,

I'm just an American citizen, born and raised here, so I know you don't have too much time to waste on what I have to say. That's fine, I understand that you're a very busy president.

I'm thinking of packing up and getting the heck out of this rat race and I was wondering if it will be as easy for me to walk out of this place as it is for people to walk in. I don't have all the stupid papers they used to use, I'll be winging it, you know, just traveling around the world "free-syle", I guess you would say, you know "the American way". When I find a place I like I'll just settle in.

My main question to you is, if I stay away for say less than five years, but more than two years, could I qualify as an illegal alien if and when I so choose to come back ? By then I'm going to have a couple of kids starting college, and I'm thinking I might do better as an illegal alien than as a real U.S. citizen.. I'd like to drop this health insurance policy for one thing and to be able to get free health care at the ER would be a big help. I'd also like to work for an illegal alien employer so that I can be more flexible.

I'm really burnt out from being tied down to those old fashioned values and principles we used to live by before you became president. The worst thing was really "the laws". I cannot believe how stupid we were to take them so seriously. What a waste of time THAT was !! I'm feeling a lot more free now thanks to you. I like the "anything comes and anything goes" philosophy that you introduced into the country, President Bush.

Well, hopefully you will send a subtle message in a speech soon regarding this issue, and I'll at least know what I can look forward to when I return.

Hey keep up the good work, Ole Boy !! Just think of how we used to call our presidents "Mr. President", and "Sir, That all seems SO STUPID NOW looking back, doesn't it ?? What were we thinking ?? All that "properness" and worrying about "doing things the right way". Gosh were we ever behind the times or what ??!! And we called ourselves a "super power" ! How emabarrassing. Okay, Bubba, I'm out a here, and with no regrets, you'll be happy to know. I'm not going to miss this stupid place, heck it's time to move on and try out some other countries for a change.

With a little luck, maybe I'll be able to squeeze a few benefits out of some of these other countries that are more ahead of the times than dumb ole America is. If I get rich somewhere I'll send you a little to help pay off the debt......oh yea, I forgot....we gave up worrying about that didn't we ?

Well, maybe I'm still a little stuck in my old American ways, just a little. I'm sorry about that, Mr. President, I really am. Oh my gosh, I just called you, "Mr. President". What kind of crap is that ?

Let's go find a country/island someplace that can hold say 2 million people. Then we emigrate there and leave this for the pro-illegal crowd to deal with. Too bad we don't have space flight - we could always take off for another world.

You know who I'd REALLY like to send it to ?? The president of Syria. But because I love and respect my country in reality, contrary to my letter, I would never do it. Plus that would be communicating with a terrorist and dictator. Not an advisable pastime for an American citizen.

I just watched a segment on this Syrian dictator and that guy is the WORST of the WORST. He is worse than Saddam Hussein. The people cannot say ANYTHING to criticise him or it will be sure death. If you don't know a whole lot about him look it up. I am sure we will hear more about him in the coming days.

No. As much as I would "enjoy" sending this letter to President Bush I think it should just remain with us. It would be thrown in the trash. What I could do is to edit it a little and maybe we COULD send a close resemblance of it.

I hope people are having fun writing them and feeling productive. Tomorrow I have a "real" letter to post under "Letters From the Edge" and I am going to be doing a lot of e-mailing.
