Illegal alien charged with trying to abduct girl from Texas Walmart

On Wednesday, Gerardo Wall Ham, 34, was taken into custody nine hours after he allegedly tried to abduct an 11-year-old girl from a Walmart.
Around 1:10 p.m., Ham reportedly approached the girl from behind and grabbed her chest.
However, when he tried to pick her up she began screaming and he quickly dropped her and ran from the store.
The girl was left alone in the toy department while her parents shopped in another section of the store.
According to Borger Police Lt. Anthony Griffin, an undercover officer was also in Walmart at the time of the attempted kidnapping and phoned in a good description of the suspect.
The Ammarillo Globe-News reports that sometime later, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper spotted a white pickup similar to the one in which Ham was seen fleeing the scene near Morse.
Ham was brought to the Borger Police Department for questioning , during which time it was determined that the suspect is a Mexican national and in the country illegally.
Ham has been charged with unlawful restraint and is currently being held at the Hutchinson County Jail on an immigration detainer.
Of course, this is only the latest such case...
