Border Patrol Arrests 7 Criminal Aliens in Two Weeks

TUCSON, Ariz. – Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested seven criminal aliens during the last two weeks previously convicted of serious crimes or affiliated with the violent MS-13 gang.

On Dec. 6, Douglas Station agents arrested two individuals: a Mexican national previously convicted of robbery, and a Guatemalan national convicted of vehicle theft.

On Dec. 10 and 13, Tucson Station agents arrested two Guatemalan MS-13 gang members, one convicted previously for battery, robbery, theft, and criminal impersonation.

Agents from three different stations each apprehended an individual from Mexico in separate instances on Dec. 10, 11 and 15, and each man previously convicted of having sex with a minor.

On Dec. 14, the Tucson Police Department turned over a Mexican national to agents after conducting a vehicle stop and discovering the driver was illegally present in the U.S. and in possession of a loaded handgun.

Agents processed all subjects for prosecution and/or removal proceedings in accordance with Tucson Sector prosecution guidelines.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
