The divided state of America (ALIPAC)

    The divided state of America

    Lifestyle December 1, 2015

A heart for charity with a head for security

    By Jim & Cori Phelps
    THE “ACT”

In a presidential memorandum for the Secretary of State, released on whitehouse.gov on September 29, 2015, President Obama, under the guise of helping the growing Syrian refugee crisis, posted the following “executive decision”:
“In accordance with section 207 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (the “Act”) (8 U.S.C. 1157) … I hereby make the following determinations and authorize the following actions: The admission of up to 85,000 refugees to the United States during Fiscal Year (FY) 2016 is justified by humanitarian concerns or is otherwise in the national interest; provided that this number shall be understood as including persons admitted to the United States during FY 2016 with Federal refugee resettlement assistance under the Amerasian immigrant admissions program…”
Although it appears the U.S. is attempting to help Syria, only a small number of refugees are being chosen and relocated from that area of the world. (See background map for actual numbers from specified countries.)

    THE CONCERN

For Christians, the words “refugees” and “humanitarian concerns” immediately illicit thoughts of compassion, as they should with numerous areas of the Bible instructing us, as in James 1:27, to help the poor, the needy, the widow and the orphan. We imagine our own children in those circumstances, and picture those being martyred for their faith and the desire to help grows even stronger. The body of Christ is every citizen in every nation, and we are to attempt to reach all we can while we are here.
Yet with a closer look and thoughtful consideration of the facts and the knowledge of both those in leadership in the Christian community and those in government-focused organizations, who spend every day on the front lines of this controversial issue, this scenario begins to raise concern. Humanitarian acts require funding and resources, but looking at our 18.4 trillion dollar national debt, our shaky national security and the implied intentions of this move by our government, questions such as the following should instantly come to mind:
    • How can we afford this influx of new people requiring numerous public and government services to acclimate to our culture and society, when we’re currently cutting funding for social security and the military?
    • Who will take care of all these people with maxed-out healthcare, housing and welfare systems?
    • Who is choosing these refugees, and what security measures are ensuring proper vetting?
    • If we want to use our tax dollars to help these people, why must they move to the U.S.? Wouldn’t we be able to help many more “refugees” by providing aid to them in place where the cost of living is much cheaper and they are closer to the home from which they were displaced?
    • While Christians are being persecuted heavily, why is it that almost none have been picked by the UN for resettlement? In fact, 97 percent of Syrians resettled to the U.S. in 2015 were Muslims.
    • Why, when it seems that the overwhelming majority of these refugees practice the Islamic faith, are all Gulf states refusing to take them in and lobby the UN to settle them in America?

With these concerns and more, most Americans remain silent, unaware or misinformed on this issue which affects not only our economy, but could drastically affect our religious freedoms, our children’s futures, and potentially our national security.
While we’ve welcomed refugees from all areas of the world and all religious affiliations since the Refugee Act of 1980, none have begun to create controversy and as much concern for Christian Americans as those practicing Islam and its shariah law (refer to resources to learn more about shariah). Although news outlets have begun to reveal lessons on the Five Pillars of Islam in textbooks and homework assignments, European streets filled with Muslims praying in cities like Paris and Sweden, and the bodies of Syrian children washed up on distant shores, Christians remain torn on the subject of immigration and vastly uneducated on Islamic doctrine (shariah) and history.

    THE DUTY

As a follower of Christ considers the decline of Christianity both here in the U.S. and around the world, along with the implications of the potential spread of Islam through immigration, he or she must be incredibly discerning. Jesus said, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves — Matthew 10:16. We can remain naïve and believe this isn’t happening, but facts are facts. Find them and learn them. We should not be sheep-like when great challenges or oppositions arise, but make preparation to be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong — 1 Corinthians 16:13.

Share the Bible, from a position of love, with Muslims AND be knowledgeable about Islamic doctrine to effectively do so. Americans reject “radical Islam,” but many know very little about Islam itself, particularly the life, example and teachings of Muhammad – considered by Muslims to be the “perfect Muslim” and one whose example and teachings must be followed. While it seems that the issues of “Islamic extremism” and “terrorism” are ever-changing (for the worse) we must realize that these are terms we (Christians / The West) came up with – not terms used by Muslims. Muslims call those who do violence on behalf of their faith “Jihadis” and Islamic Law (shariah) defines “Jihad” as “warfare against non-Muslims.” This fact is something that hasn’t changed. It has existed from the time Muhammad made his “great migration” (called “The Hijra”) to Medina and it continues today as hundreds of thousands of Muslims make “The Hijra” to America. Considering these facts, Christian-Americans have a duty to study Islamic doctrine and our nation’s policies as they relate to this doctrine.

It is, as I say, a program that is antithetical to everything we hold dear in terms of human freedom, liberties, our Constitution, our form of government, our way of life, the treatment of women, the treatment of religious minorities, the treatment of individuals who happen to be homosexual, or apostates…”

Muslim mentality varies widely depending upon the region. You would find lots of genial people in countries like, say, Jordan, or Morocco, or Indonesia but much more open hostility and zealotry in Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. And a lot of these countries had well developed prior civilizations but succumbed to invasions from zealot areas----Iran succumbing to the Arabian invasions, as did Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon. As did western North Africa or the Sub Saharan region to Persian Gulf and Red Sea Arabs. European Christianity spread through the Northern Latitudes via seafaring people. Islam spread through the tropical and semi tropical regions of the old world. And it may be that much of what we ascribe to Islam is just a type of syncretism.

Lumping all Muslims in together is not really helping, IMO.

Good and genial Muslims need to stop their bad ones. It's really not our responsibility to solve their problem. They need to be swarming into Syria and other countries and shut ISIS and Al Qaeda down. They need to be going to predominantly Muslim countries and figuring out a solution to their religion based problems in Syria, Iraq and other countries. Sunnis need to stop warring with Sheites, and vice versa. They all need to stop treating women the way they do and grant them equal rights and not force them to stay home, deny them the right to drive or vote, or abuse them for their lifestyles. But as they are today, on the stage with CAIR offering apologies to protect themselves while women in headdress stand silently to their rears without speaking a word? No. Not here. Not in the United States.

Americans have worked too hard, we've sacrificed too much, to relent to this type of religion-based culture in the United States. You want it? You go back home where you can have it.

Killer’s brother-in-law speaks at ‘weird, weird, weird’ CAIR presser following massacre

    December 3, 2015 | Michael Dorstewitz

Shortly after two suspects of Wednesday’s deadly shooting at the Christmas party held at Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino were identified, the Council on American-Islamic Relations held a press conference.

Times of London’s Toby Harnden called the presser ‘weird, weird, weird’ in a series of tweets. Maybe that’s because of the abundance of caution authorities have taken to downplay the fact that the suspected murderers appear to be terrorists.

Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, described as a devout Muslim, and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, 27, were both shot and killed during a shootout with police.

After the names were released, the national CAIR office tweeted:

In what may be described as effort at damage control — especially after the November 13 Paris massacre by Islamic extremists — CAIR’s regional director then released this statement, according to The Press-Enterprise. “We condemn this horrific and revolting attack and offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of all those killed or injured,” said CAIR-LA Executive Director Hussam Ayloush. “The Muslim community stands shoulder to shoulder with our fellow Americans in repudiating any twisted mindset that would claim to justify such sickening acts of violence.” Farhan Khan, Farook’s brother-in-law, spoke at a press conference held at CAIR’s regional offices in Anaheim.

People saw it for what it was, though, and weren’t necessarily impressed, including the Times of London’s Toby Harnden, who tweeted:

When someone asked why, he explained:

    He added:

Another example of political correctness gone amok?

    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.
