An immigration enforcement activist says Tuesday night's vice-presidential debate clearly exposed the lies of the Democrats when it comes to border security and immigration enforcement.
During the debate, Democratic VP nominee Tim Kaine tried to justify Hillary Clinton's call to bring thousands and thousands more Syrian refugees into the United States, claiming that not doing so would somehow be discriminatory and violate the U.S. Constitution:
Mike Pence: "... Let's make sure we're putting the safety and security of the American people first instead of Hillary Clinton expanding the Syrian refugee program ..."
Tim Kaine (interrupting): "Or instead of you violating the Constitution by blocking people based on their national origin rather than whether they're dangerous."
Pence: "That's not – that's absolutely false."
Kaine: "That's what the Seventh Circuit decided ...."
In an interview with OneNewsNow, William Gheen – president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC – says the clause in the Constitution that prohibits discrimination based on creed or national origin applies to people who are already in the country legally.
"Which has nothing to do with stopping Syrian refugees from coming in," he adds. "And even if it was a type of discrimination – the healthy kind of discrimination that keeps individuals, communities, and countries alive and secure – it is superseded by Article 4 of the Constitution, which says all states shall be protected from invasion."
Kaine was "ridiculously twisting things," Gheen continues. "Just like he ridiculously twisted that Donald Trump's comment about illegal immigrant rapists, which are a problem, meant that he was calling all Mexicans rapists.
"It was so disturbing to see how fluidly and comfortably Tim Kaine was engaging in ... lies after lies after lies in the debate."
Gheen points out there are, in fact, many Mexicans illegally in the country who do commit heinous crimes – like the illegal immigrant who murdered Kate Steinle on a San Francisco pier in 2015.
