A 15-year-old upstate New York girl was raped, suffocated and buried days later in an apple orchard by her brother-in-law, police said.

The remains of Katherine Sanchez were found Friday, more than a month after she was reported missing.

Carlos Cardenas, 21, is being held on second-degree murder charges in Orleans County.

Police say Cardenas raped the teen while she was babysitting at his house and killed her when she threatened to tell her sister, WKBW-TV reported.

Cardenas kept Sanchez’s dead body in his basement for a couple of days before taking it to the orchard, said police.

"He deserves the death sentence, that's what he deserves," Kimberly Cardenas said of her husband, whom she said acted normally while Sanchez was missing. "He's demented. He's a sick man."

Police said Carlos Cardenas, a native of Mexico, is illegally in the U.S.

"She was an angel," Kimberly Cardenas said of her sister, "an angel on earth."

You see, he is an illegal alien. Why do we keep illegal aliens here? They must be deported. THey are crazy individuals.

This is a very sad story. Any individual, illegal immigrant or not, that would do this is no better than a rabid animal and should be dealt with accordingly (dirt nap).

Illegal alien pleads not guilty to raping, killing his teenage sister-in-law

On Wednesday, Carlos A. Cardenas, 21, appeared in Orleans County Court and through an interpreter, pleaded not guilty to the indictment charging him with two counts of second-degree murder, causing a death in the course of committing another felony as well as first-and third-degree rape.

On February 18, the body of 15-year-old Katherine Sanchez was recovered in an apple orchard in Orleans County, New York. The girl had been missing for over a month.

Cardenas once worked in the orchard where the girl’s remains were unearthed. He allegedly strangled the girl in his bathroom before disposing of her body in the rural area.

According to Albion Police Chief Dean London, the Mexican national admitted to strangling the girl to death back on January 15. He was reportedly worried that she would tell her sister that he had raped her.

An autopsy confirmed the victim was suffocated.

Police said that they viewed Cardenas as a suspect from the day Sanchez disappeared, but did not announce it because of his illegal status and fear that he would flee to Mexico.

Chief London told reporters: “I want to emphasize the news of her disappearance was not circulated by law enforcement because the defendant, who has been the suspect since the matter was reported to us, was not in custody and our concern was that news of the victim’s disappearance would hinder our investigation.â€

Many who come across are not looking for work, they are part of gang and drug activity, we are getting Mexico's criminals.

ALBION, N.Y. (WIVB) - An illegal immigrant, accused of raping and murdering his young sister-in-law, returned to Orleans County Court on Monday.

The prosecution and defense are awaiting DNA testing results before a decision is made on a plea offer. 21-year-old Carlos Cardenas is accused of raping and killing 16-year-old Katherine Sanchez in Albion earlier this year. Police found her body in an apple orchard.

Cardenas claims her death was accidental, and said Sanchez threatened to tell his wife about their sexual encounter.

Although the open borders crowd described illegals as poor, honest people who come here to work, the truth is quite different. The culture of Mexico is one of violence, under-age sexual activity, drunkeness and corruption. This are the values they bring with them across the border.

Are these gangbangers here murdering each other to collect life insurance policy monies, in order to push themselves ahead in society, as a group? Even a $50,000 life insurance policy will buy them a mobile home, or pay off a mortgage in some areas. Some of them have 10 kids, and I would imagine some of them would actually do this sort of thing since some place no value on a Human Life. Hmmmmm....... It is obvious that crime rates are very high within the illegal communities. In San Diego cars are stolen, drug across the border, and one person gets insurance money for a car here, then the other sells a car, or drives it around somewhere south of our border.
