DETROIT -A man is dead after being shot by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer and other task force officers at a home in Detroit, police said.

Police Chief James Craig said a fugitive task force was serving an armed robbery and weapons charges warrant Monday afternoon at a home in the 9500 block of Evergreen Road when the shooting happened.

Craig said the officers reported being threatened by the man, but didn’t say if the man had a weapon.

Federal agent fatally shoots fugitive in Detroit

An attempt to capture a fugitive turned deadly today on Detroit's west side, where a federal agent fatally shot a man who was wanted for a number of crimes, police said.

The incident happened at around 1 p.m. on the 9400 block of Evergreen.

According to Detroit Police Sgt. Cassandra Lewis, a fugitive task force had gone to a home to arrest a 21-year-old man when one of the task force members — an officer with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — "was faced with a threat" and fired their weapon.

"There was no forced entry," Lewis said. "One of the ICE officers was faced with a threat and made the decision to use lethal force to eliminate the threat."

Lewis did not elaborate, noting she did not have details as to what transpired before the wanted fugitive was shot. She said the DPD will investigate the shooting to determine if the force was justified.

"We don't know all of those details right now," Lewis said.

According to Lewis, the victim had several outstanding arrest warrants for crimes including armed robbery and weapons violations.

ICE officials confirmed that it was one of their officers who fired the fatal shot. The officer is part of the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team.

If ICE was involved the fugitive also must have been an alien. The alien is now just a casualty of war. It is what happens to some of the invaders after mass invasions. Have someone's President send his parents a note of sorrow and sympathy and case closed.

It appears that his parents also live in Detroit.

Thanks, Johndoe2. Starting to appear he maybe was running guns? Info still on the weaker side? Seems very sketchy and now the hush put on oit by the feds for investigation this could take a couple years, possibly.
