[VIDEO] LET THEM EAT CAKE!: Elitist Hillary Clinton has the same worries as we little people: "We had no money when we got there and we struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages for houses..." (You do notice the plural on mortgages and houses, right?)
Seems $100 million doesn't go as far as it used to...

Hillary Clinton: "We Came Out Of The White House Dead Broke"

    Video at the page link:

DIANE SAWYER, ABC NEWS: It has been reported you've made $5 million making speeches, the president's made more than $100 million.

HILLARY CLINTON: Well, if you -- you have no reason to remember, but we came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt. We had no money when we got there and we struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages for houses, for Chelsea's education, you know, it was not easy. Bill has worked really hard and it's been amazing to me. He's worked very hard, first of all, we had to pay off all our debts which was, you know, we had to make double the money because of obviously taxes, and pay you have at debts, and get us houses and take care of family members.

SAWYER: But do you think Americans will understand five times the median income in this country for one speech?

CLINTON: Well, let me put it this way, I thought making speeches for money was a much better thing than getting connected with any one group or company as so many people who leave public life do.

Here Are The Two Multi-Million Dollar Mansions Hillary Says She “Struggled” To Pay Mortgage On

For our new anti-Hillary Clinton eBook, click HERE.

In an interview with Diane Sawyer, Hillary Clinton claimed that after the White House their family “struggled..to piece together the resources for mortgages, for houses.” The “we struggled to get by” defense from a multi-millionaire might be tough to swallow for Americans actually struggling to pay their mortgage. Hillary, after-all, left the White House having spent 20 years living in gratis government mansions in Little Rock and Washington D.C. Additionally, lets not forget that Bill Clinton’s annual salary was $200,000/year as President and he was able to cash-in on a $50,000 expense account. The Clintons made roughly FOUR times what the average American made and “struggled to get by.”
After leaving the White House, the Clintons bought two multi-million dollar mansions. They bought this $1.7 million mansion in Chappaqua, NY so Hillary could claim residence in the state ahead of her 2000 Senate campaign. Then they purchased this $2.85 million mansion on Embassy Row in Washington D.C. The home has 5 bedrooms and 6 baths. Get our e-book on Hillary Clinton here!

Hillary Received $8 Million in Book Advance Before Leaving White House ‘Broke’ in 2000

Hillary Clinton may not have been as “dead broke” as she’s claimed her family was upon leaving the White House in 2000. In the final month of her husband’s presidency, Clinton reportedly inked a near-record book advance deal worth millions.
In an interview with Diane Sawyer to air on Monday evening, Clinton explained that she and her husband had to earn millions from speaking engagements because they were so deep in debt. “We had no money when we got there, and we struggled to piece together the resources for mortgages for houses, for Chelsea’s education — it was not easy,” she told Sawyer.
But in a December 2000 article, the New York Times reported that then-senator-elect Clinton sold her memoir, Living History, to Simon & Schuster for $8 million. The newspaper described the effort to nab her book as a “frantic weeklong bidding war” after she held an open auction on the proposal.
Simon & Schuster had already published Clinton’s three earlier books: It Takes a Village: And Other Lessons Children Teach Us; Dear Socks, Dear Buddy: Kids’ Letters to the First Pets; and An Invitation to the White House: At Home with History. The publishing company is also releasing her latest book, Hard Choices, due out on Tuesday.
Clinton’s 2000 deal was of near-record size: At the time, the largest advance ever given was $8.5 million for Pope John Paul II’s book in 1994, according to the Times.

    Clintons Return White House Furniture

    W A S H I N G T O N, Feb. 8
    10 Comments

Former President Clinton and his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, have sent $28,000 worth of household goods back to Washington after questions arose over whether the items were intended as personal gifts or donations to the White House.
“We have been informed that it is being shipped back, and the National Park Service is ready to receive it, take possession of it and take custody of it,” Jim McDaniel, the National Park Service’s liaison to the White House, said Wednesday.
“The property is being returned to government custody until such time that the issues can be resolved. It may well turn out that that property is rightly the personal property of the Clintons.”
    Giving Back
After they were criticized for taking $190,000 worth of china, flatware, rugs, televisions, sofas and other gifts with them when they left, the Clintons announced last week that they would pay for $86,000 worth of gifts, or nearly half the amount.
Their latest decision to send back $28,000 in gifts brings to $114,000 the value of items the Clintons have either decided to pay for or return.
McDaniel discussed the matter Wednesday with Betty Monkman, the White House curator, and Gary Walters, the chief usher, or executive manager of the White House.
They were reviewing the gifts the Clintons chose to keep after $28,000 worth of items were found on a list of donations the Park Service received for the 1993 White House redecoration project. The Washington Post this week quoted three people who said that they assumed the furnishings they donated for the project would stay in the White House.
“As a result of questions about the status of certain property donated to the White House during the Clinton administration, the National Park Service will accept the return of the property in question and act as a custodian of such property,” according to a statement released by the Park Service, which administers the White House as a unit of the national park system.
A person familiar with the Clintons’ move out of the White House, who spoke on condition of anonymity, would say only: “They’ve been returned.”
    Furniture Movers
While the Clintons’ decision to return these gifts was a way to get out from under this and other criticism surrounding their departure from the White House, the couple provided scant details about the shipment.
Mrs. Clinton’s office referred all questions about the gift return to the former president’s transition office. Transition office workers said the Clintons would make no statement. They referred all questions to the Park Service, which wasn’t exactly sure which gifts were being returned or where they had been kept.
In a statement released Monday, Clinton’s transition office said every item they accepted was identified by the White House gift office as a present to them. They said none of the gifts taken was on a curator’s list of official White House property.
“Gifts did not leave the White House without the approval of the White House usher’s and curator’s offices,” the statement said. “Of course, if the White House now determines that a cataloging error occurred, ... any item in question will be returned.”
Instead of waiting for the issue to be resolved, the Clintons returned the items.
The gifts in question were: A kitchen table and four chairs valued at $3,650 from Lee Ficks of Cincinnati, Ohio; a $1,000 needlepoint rug from David Martinous of Little Rock, Ark.; two sofas, an easy chair and an ottoman worth $19,900 from Steve Mittman of New York; lamps valued at $1,170 from Stuart Shiller of Hialeah, Fla.; and a $2,843 sofa from Brad Noe, a businessman from California.
The gifts were just one of several flaps that followed the Clintons out of the White House:
Lawmakers are questioning Clinton’s desire to rent expensive office space in New York City at government expense. Because of the contention, the former president’s foundation has offered to pay at least $300,000 of an estimated $790,000 annual rent for the office Clinton favors.
Mrs. Clinton, the new senator from New York, has faced questions about the propriety of accepting the gifts in the period between her election and her swearing-in. Senate rules would have limited what she could accept had she been a senator.
Members of both parties also have criticized Clinton for granting scores of eleventh-hour clemency requests, including the pardon of Marc Rich, a fugitive in Switzerland from 51 counts in the United States of tax evasion and fraud.

‘Please don’t tell me about how poor you are’: Glenn excoriates Hillary Clinton’s latest claims about being ‘dead broke’

Tuesday, Jun 10, 2014 at 12:25 PM EST

Ahead of the release of her memoir Hard Choices, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton has been making the rounds to discuss some of the more savory aspects of the book including the assertion that her family was “dead broke” when they left the White House in 2000 and why she deferred to “the experts” when it came to the September 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya. On radio this morning, Glenn struggled to reconcile Clinton’s remarks.
“I guess I can handle the Hillary Clinton stuff now – ease myself into it,” Glenn said. “We have to put good food in our body. Hillary Clinton is not good food. You are what you eat. I don’t want to be Hillary Clinton.”
While Clinton has appeared in several interviews on several networks already, they chose to focus on the Diane Sawyer interview that aired Monday night on ABC.

    Video at the page link:

On the issue of Benghazi, Sawyer asked Clinton about the security threat Ambassador Chris Stevens faced. Clinton reiterated that Stevens was at the consulate by “his own choosing,” and refused to classify Benghazi as one of the most dangerous diplomatic posts.
It was important to have diplomatic assets. Were there security threats? Yes, and there are,” Clinton said. “There’s a long list of countries where there are security threats to Americans interests.”
When Sawyer asked if the consulate in Benghazi would be in the top 10 most dangerous, Clinton said “maybe in the top upper 10.”
“It wasn’t the top five, maybe the top upper 10,” Glenn said disgusted. “This person is such a politician, I can’t take it.”
One of the more surprising tidbits to come from Clinton’s book tour is the talking point that she and former President Bill Clinton were somehow “dead broke” upon leaving the White House. Considering, both Clintons command several hundred thousand dollars (minimum) for speaking engagements, and Hillary signed a $8 million book deal upon leaving the White House, her claims are hard to believe. Clinton has, however, doubled down on the claim.

“We came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt,” Clinton told Sawyer. “We had no money when we got there, and we struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages, for houses, for Chelsea’s education. You know, it was not easy.”
“Is that when she and Bill lived in the cardboard box under the bridge,” Pat quipped.
As she explained, Clinton believes it was better to make money through speaking engagements “than getting connected with any one group or company as so many people who leave public life do.”
“Please don’t tell me about how poor you are,” Glenn said. “’Honey, we’re going to have Hamburger Helper. Of course next week, we’re going to give that million-dollar speech and I guess we have my $8 million book deal. But we’re having Hamburger Helper this week. Nobody knows the trouble we’ve seen.’”
While there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Clintons using their clout to make money via speeches or anything else, it is utterly disingenuous when you consider the ‘income inequality,’ progressive narrative they preach.
“How disingenuous are these people in general? Here are people who come out and tell us all the time about income inequality… and campaign finance laws. We can’t have big money from these corporations influencing these campaigns,” Stu explained. “[Yet] she will sit here for the next year making $200,000 speeches… which she can use, if needed, for her campaign. [The money is] coming directly from corporations… It will go around all the campaign finance laws that they wrote. It will go against all the premises of income and equality they fight for so hard and nobody will say anything. It’s infuriating.”
The silver lining in this otherwise infuriating situation? You many recall Clinton tried – and failed – to run for president just six years ago.
“The positive reminder here is, while everyone is telling you this woman is an absolute shoe in into president already, remember the reason she’s not our current president is because she is awful,” Stu concluded. “She blew it last time. She could easily blow it again this time. She’s not likable.”
