Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peters: Biggest Arab Jihadi Victory Since the 12th Century

Peters: The Biggest Arab Jihadi Victory Since the 12th Century

(by Keith Koffler, White House Dossier) -- Brought to you in Iraq and Syria by President Barack Obama.

According to retired Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peters, a Fox News analysts:
This is President Obama’s real legacy: The creation of the first Jihadi state in modern history, stretching from central Syria to central Iraq and now approaching Baghdad, all because President Obama saw everything through a political lens.
Have a look at this searing indictment.

Obama in 2011: ‘We’re Leaving Behind A Stable And Self-Reliant Iraq’

329 Shares By Mike Miller 6 hours ago

    Video at the page link:

As Iraq spirals out of control, it’s become clear that, once again, the Obama administration has been caught off guard. Worse? Given Barack Obama’s assessment in 2011, this should never have happened:
“Today, I can announce that our review is complete, and that the United States will pursue a new strategy to end the war in Iraq through a transition to full Iraqi responsibility.

This strategy is grounded in a clear and achievable goal shared by the Iraqi people and the American people: an Iraq that is sovereign, stable, and self-reliant.

[W]e will work to promote an Iraqi government that is just, representative, and accountable, and that provides neither support nor safe haven to terrorists.”
    How’d that all work out?
In the past seven months, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) - a terrorist group that sprang from al Qaeda - has captured Fallujah and Mosul [and Tikrit, Saddam Hussein's home town], and is now intent on capturing the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
Now, U.S. officials have not only warned Americans not to travel to Iraq, but have prepared contingency plans to evacuate the U.S. embassy as well.
So how did the administration miscalculate so terribly? How did the events of the last year creep up on it? Lack of focus? Wishful thinking? Consumed by an ever-growing list of scandals? Too much campaigning and not enough governing? All of the above?
Anyway, to be fair, it wasn’t just Obama who referred to ending the war in 2011 a “moment of success.” In 2010, Vice President Biden called Iraq “one of the great achievements of this administration.”

Incidentally, remember when President George W. Bush was lambasted by the left over the “Mission Accomplished” banner on the aircraft carrier?

Flashback: Joe Biden’s Bold Prediction: Iraq Is “Gonna Be One Of The Great Achievements Of This Administration” (Video)

    Written By : Duane Lester

Before watching this, I think it’s important we remember why Obama chose Joe for his running mate. It was because Obama was weak on foreign policy. Joe supposedly brought the wisdom and insight to that area. If that’s true, Obama’s clueless. From what we’ve see, it’s true:

I am very optimistic about Iraq. I think it’s gonna be one of the great achievements of this administration. You’re gonna see 90,000 troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You’re gonna see a stable Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government…I’ve been impressed by how they’ve been deciding to use the political process rather than guns to settle their differences.”
After watching last week’s Game of Thrones, followed by this video, this came to mind:

    Just about sums it up.

Mark Levin on Iraq Today: "One of The Greatest Failures in U.S. Foreign Policy History"

    Video at the page link:

MARK LEVIN: When you look at the Declaration of Independence and truly it's magnificence -- that statement of humanity, justice, righteousness to liberty. When you look at the constitution they hammered out in less than five months. A little over 4000 words. It's the first time anything like that ever occurred in human history. And it's likely the last time anything like that will occur in human history.

And when you consider our history. The people who have fought to preserve -- our founding and those principles -- so that successive generations could enjoy the blessings of liberty. When you consider all the men and women who have died in one war after another, who sacrificed and one war after another. So young, so many of them who could never enjoy the freedom that we take for granted. It is just mind-boggling, it really is.

Many of you listening have had families touched by war; most of you listening have not. When I see what's going on in Iraq right now, and I think to myself it didn't have to be this way. That Obama and Biden refused to enter into the appropriate arrangements with the government there. I think this is one of the greatest failures in American national security and foreign policy history. (The Mark Levin Show, June 12, 2014)

Lt. Col. Ralph Peters: US Needs to Realize ‘Iraq Is Done’

Secretary of State John Kerry needs to "start dealing with reality"

    by Wanda Carruthers | Newsmax | June 24, 2014

Secretary of State John Kerry needs to “start dealing with reality,” realize that “Iraq is done,” and work on solutions that are in the best interests of the United States, said retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters.

Kerry was in Baghdad on Monday to meet with Iraqi officials to discuss how to battle Islamist militant insurgents who have taken over broad areas of the country. Peters said it was “ill service” for the State Department to obsess “with lines on a map.”
“John Kerry needs to start dealing with reality,” Peters, who is retired from the U.S. Army, told Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” on Tuesday. “Kerry is running all over Iraq trying to persuade the various players to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. Iraq is done. Finished. Gone. It’s over.”
Militants with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have taken over enough territory in Iraq for it to be “irretrievably broken,” Peters said, adding that the “hatreds are too deep” among the various tribal sects in Iraq for repair to be possible.
