    ELECTION 2012

    GOP delegates sue to be free from Romney

    123 Republicans and counting want to be 'unbound' at national convention

    Published: 2 hours ago

    by Drew Zahn

    Over 120 delegates to the Republican National Convention have joined a lawsuit against the GOP arguing they have been illegally coerced into choosing Mitt Romney for the party’s presidential nominee and demanding they be “unbound” to vote for another candidate instead.

    The federal lawsuit, filed this week in U.S. District Court in California by mostly supporters of Ron Paul, demands the delegates be freed to “vote their conscience” for presidential nominee at the party’s August national convention in Tampa, Fla., rather than being “bound” to vote for a certain candidate, as many state party bylaws require, based on the primary elections and other delegate selection procedures.

    Courthouse News Service reports at least another 40 additional national convention delegates have asked to join the lawsuit.

    Supporters of the effort say there is “evidence that the voting rights of Ron Paul Republican delegates and voters … have been violated by nearly every state GOP party and the RNC during the 2012 primary election phase.”

    The delegates claim the party violated federal law by forcing them to sign loyalty affidavits, under threat of perjury, to vote for Mitt Romney, though he is not yet the official nominee.

    “They don’t want to be bound to any candidate, or even be forced to vote for the nominee,” Richard Gilbert, of Gilbert & Marlowe, attorney for the delegates, told Courthouse News. “To have a real convention, the delegates must have free will so that when they meet, they can persuade each other and then decide who to vote for.”

    The courts have typically allowed political parties leeway in the nomination of their candidates, but this case asks the court to consider the choice of presidential nominee a “federal election,” subject to laws that would free delegates from party procedures to vote their conscience.

    Beyond merely asserting delegates’ “right” to vote their conscience, however, the lawsuit asserts the GOP has engaged in a racketeering-like scheme to push Romney as the candidate.

    “The Republican National Committee and its chairman have been aiding the Governor Romney campaign for at least six months,” the lawsuit asserts. “The RNC and its chairman, defendant Reince Priebus, have … combined with a particular candidate with all of the aid the RNC can possibly, but improperly give … to obstruct, intimidate and harass delegates from voting their conscience.”

    Specifically, the lawsuit charges Republican officials and operatives have used threats of violence, certified unlawful slates of delegates, demanded affidavits of loyalty to Romney under penalty of perjury and have even altered ballot results to make sure the national convention is stacked with delegates who will vote for Romney.

    “Some campaigns act like organized crime syndicates – and I mean organized crime, no doubt about it,” Gilbert told Courthouse News. “In Arizona, the voting machines were rigged so that Ron Paul votes were counted as Mitt Romney votes. It was so intentional that a Romney delegate refused to certify the vote count, and for that he got thrown off the convention.”

    The plaintiffs are asking the court to order the RNC to inform delegates they can vote for the nominee of their choice, to reinstate delegates who lost their seats at the convention because they refused to sign loyalty affidavits and to recount ballots by hand or hold another convention in areas “where the sanctity of the ballots are untrustworthy.”

    Yet striking down party rules that bind candidates to vote in accordance with the primary process could suddenly open up the nomination to another campaign season, as presidential hopefuls could attempt to sway the elected delegates to their side, a potentiality Gilbert recognizes.

    “If the judge rules in our favor, I won’t be surprised if three or four new candidates, say Sarah Palin, jump in and say they want to be considered,” Gilbert told Courthouse News. “It will be the most interesting national convention in my lifetime if the judge rules for us on this.”

    A video created by allies of the lawsuit explaining its basics can be seen below:

    Some sources report that Gilbert & Marlowe represent presidential hopeful Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, but the attorney’s office would not confirm with WND whether it has represented Paul previously nor whether the congressman has any connection to the current lawsuit.

    Romney's Foreign Policy Advisers Exposed as Globalists

    Council on Foreign Relations
    Brandon Turbeville

    Several months ago, when some still questioned the destiny of Mitt Romney as the Republican Presidential Nominee, the Romney campaigned demonstrated its own lack of doubt on the issue by announcing a stable of foreign policy advisers and various working groups specific to issues and regions. The list of Romney’s foreign policy team consisted of 22 advisers as well as 13 working groups.

    The list was initially published at least as far back as October 6, 2011 in the Washington Post article by Philip Rucker entitled, “Mitt Romney taps foreign policy, national security advisers.”

    Considering Romney’s attendance at the 2012 Bilderberg meeting and the apparent tendency of the elite in leaning to Romney as the next president, it is imperative that those who are aware of the forces truly guiding the United States and the rest of the world be prepared to shift gears, even if it is only temporary, and begin to expose Mitt Romney as the criminal globalist that he is.

    Still, we must guard against being played like a tennis ball and rushing back into the arms of “Bush on steroids” Barack Obama. Unless we become significantly more streetwise than the general public has been in the past, the condition of the world will only continue to degenerate with every election, regardless of the results.

    With this in mind, the following list is a compilation of Mitt Romney’s foreign policy advisers and links to many of their affiliations. This list is by no means comprehensive. However, one should pay careful attention to the preponderance of individuals associated with the George W. Bush administration, Project For A New American Century,[1] and the Council on Foreign Relations.

    Also, bear in mind that some links will direct the reader to a homepage or online database that will require some further searching.

    Why we must oppose Obamney for President in 2012

    Thursday, June 14, 2012
    by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
    Editor of NaturalNews.com

    (NaturalNews) There is a dangerous person running for President in 2012, and his name is Baritt Obamney. I normally try not to attack specific candidates for political office, but Baritt Obamney is so offensive to American sensibilities that I had to share this warning with my fellow Americans. In 2012, we must vote against Obamney for President.

    And why? Because here is what Obamney believes in, based on his actions and voting record:

    • Big, bigger and even BIGGER government! The bigger the government, the better.

    • GMOs: Obamney is a huge supporter of Monsanto and the biotech industry that produces genetically modified seeds. He wants all Americans to eat foods laced with pesticides grown by the crops themselves! This is all part of the mass poisoning plan to keep America sick and incapable of resisting tyranny.

    • Trillion-dollar banker bailouts! Obamney was put into power by the Goldman Sachs banking elite, of course, and he wants to keep handing over trillions of dollars to his master while driving the average hard-working American into total debt slavery.

    • Continued government raids on raw milk farmers and food distribution centers: Obamney is an enemy of food freedom and farm freedom, and he can't wait to use the power of the federal government to imprison a few more Amish dairy farmers.

    • Socialized medicine: Obamney believes in taking away free choice, putting in place a Big Pharma monopoly over health care, and forcing Americans to buy health insurance even if they don't want it! This traps everyone in a system of broken medicine that doesn't even promote wellness.

    • Endless wars: Obamney is a huge fan of keeping America involved in endless wars, even if it means fabricating a fictional enemy concept -- "terrorism" -- to justify it. The military industrial complex, after all, pulls Obamney's strings.

    • Vaccines: Obamney is a staunch advocate of endless vaccinations for the entire population. It's part of his strategy to inject cancer-causing stealth viruses into the population at large (Merck vaccine scientist Dr. Maurice Hilleman admitted presence of SV40, AIDS and cancer viruses in vaccines), thereby keeping America diseased and medically enslaved.

    • Gun confiscation: Obamney is a huge fan of gun confiscation, because the worst thing for a corrupt government is for citizens to have their own individual power. That's why Obamney wants to criminalize private gun ownership and concentrate firepower in the hands of the government's most corrupt "loose cannon" departments: ATF, DEA and soon even the TSA. It's so much easier to terrorize and oppress the population when they can't shoot back.

    • Runaway national debt leading to financial collapse: Perhaps the worst thing about Obamney is that he wants to keep spending America into financial ruin. This is actually being done by design so that his bankster masters can then buy up all the assets at pennies on the dollar, leaving American small business owners and wage workers living in abject poverty.

    Is Obamney a member of the DemoCRIPS, or the ReBLOODlicans?

    Now, I'm not sure which gang Obamney has joined: Is it the DemoCRIPS, or is it the ReBLOODlicans?

    That's the name of Gov. Jesse Ventura's new book that exposes the total gang-style criminality of our current two-party system. Check it out at:

    http://www.amazon.com/DemoCRIPS-ReBLOODlicans-More-Gangs-Government/d...

    Whatever the case, it's certain that Obamney isn't a member of the Libertarian party, nor even the Green party, nor any party that advocates government serving the People rather than ruling over them.

    Come to think of it, I think Obamney may be a member of the worst political party of all... the most destructive, corrupt, demented, suffocating and stupifying party that has ever come into existence: The Republicrats.

    “Righteous Mutiny” Orchestrated by Paul Supporters to Secure the Win

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Righteous “Mutiny” in Ron Paul Campaign; Executive Committee for LAWYERS FOR RON PAUL Takes Over the R3VOLUTION Santa Ana, CA, June 15, 2012:

    The Executive Committee for LAWYERS FOR RON PAUL launches takeover of the campaign.

    Refusing to be sold downstream for political or monetary gain, the REAL Ron Paul R3volution without reservation is “in it to win it!” They are sending unbound delegates to Tampa under the protection of a federal lawsuit filed on Monday, June 11, 2012. The Ron Paul Federal Delegates Case was filed at Ronald Reagan Courthouse, Santa Ana, California. Federal Judge David Carter, Ninth Federal Circuit presides over Case Number SACV12- 00927.

    This lawsuit serves to protect the civil rights of all delegates to the Republican National Convention, as well as all delegates in any federal, general, or special election regardless of party affiliation. Title 42 USC 1971-1974 protects all delegates and alternates from coercion, intimidation, and threats designed to further a political or social agenda.

    The Executive Committee for LAWYERS FOR RON PAUL seeks to obtain a Federal Court order mandating ALL delegates are unbound and free to vote their conscience on the first round of voting at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida. LAWYERS FOR RON PAUL, a grassroots community of lawyers, paralegals, and concerned citizens are united to restore liberty to We the People and the Republic. All delegates and voters experiencing election fraud go to: Enforce Your Legal Remedy for Election Fraud Violations for more information.

    ~~~
    Note from moderator (not a part of the release): these are exclusively grassroots Ron Paul supporters who are behind this entire effort. These supporters seek to protect ALL delegates from being disenfranchised in Tampa, while also seeking redress against the corruption and damages these delegates have endured. The lawsuit also seeks to protect the civil rights of all delegates, alternatives, and voters, who have suffered from election rigging and fraud.
    No financial damages are sought. The lawyers/paralegals are working pro-bono. Their goal is to ensure a Paul victory for the nomination in Tampa.
    Please get behind this group. Dr. Paul has made it clear that this is OUR revolution and has asked us to take it from here. The grassroots has always been the basis of this revolution and is more powerful than any official campaign. Please inform all delegates and voters who have been disenfranchised of this lawsuit. If your voting rights have in any way been impugned by GOP corruption, contact www.electionfraudremedy.com.
    Also, register your Ron Paul vote online at www.ronpaulvotecount.org.
    We have to come together, now. There’s no time for naysaying and mud slinging. For the naysayers, what do any such people offer to protect our delegates and ensure they are not further disenfrachise them?
    We have a right to sue. We have a right to stand tall. We have a right to fight back with all our might. Dr. Paul says in his latest video release, essentially, ”Who is anyone else to say what we should or shouldn’t do or how we should spend our money?” His exact quote is as follows:
    “We have to present the case for liberty, the case for freedom of choice. The The opposition actually thinks that too much freedom is bad—letting people would make up their own minds about their life and how to spend their money?” Well, regardless of the pontifications of paid campaign staff the grassroots has made up its collective mind to win. Onward to victory, onward to total success in Tampa by protecting our inalienable human and God-given rights. Ron Paul is, God willing–and He does will–the nominee for president, 2012.
    Romney Not Winning Over Ron Paul Supporters, GOP Influentials Say
    PATCH.COM | Marc Fortier and Dan Tuohy | June 15, 2012
    Mitt Romney may have won over New Hampshire Tea Party members, but the jury's still out on whether he can bring over disaffected Ron Paul supporters, according to this week's Red Granite survey of influential conservatives.
    In all, 103 Republicans from New Hampshire were asked using an automated survey tool whether they think Romney – who is visiting the state today – has gained the support of Ron Paul backers in New Hampshire.
    Fifty responses were collected.
    Only 44 percent of those surveyed agreed that Romney has to some degree wrapped up the Paul supporters. Thirty-six percent said they somewhat agree, and 8 percent completely agreed. Meanwhile, 28 percent said they somewhat disagree, 12 completely disagree, and 16 percent are neutral.
    Several people responding to the survey suggested that Romney needs to work harder to win over Paul supporters.
    "Pick a Ron Paul favorite as VP, and promise an administration spot to Ron Paul or his choice," said one.
    "Pick Ron Paul as VP," said another.
    Even after Romney's overwhelming win in the New Hampshire Primary, many Tea Party members here said they wouldn't vote for him. But it appears that sentiment may be changing somewhat now that Romney is set to become the Republican nominee.
    In all, 74 percent of the survey respondents said they agree to some degree that Romney has won over New Hampshire Tea Party members. Fifty-eight percent said they somewhat agree, while 16 percent said they agree completely. Fourteen percent said they somewhat disagree, while 12 percent remain neutral.
    One respondent did say that Romney needs to "embrace the Tea Party" and stop criticizing Sarah Palin.
    Almost 90 percent of those surveyed responded in the affirmative when asked if they consider New Hampshire a must-win state for Romney. Forty-four percent said they somewhat agree, and 42 percent completely agreed. Six percent somewhat disagreed, 2 percent completely disagreed, and 4 percent remained neutral.
    We also asked our Republican influentials what they think Romney needs to do in order to win the election, and received some interesting responses.
    "Be consistently conservative," said one.
    Another had a similar message, but was a more blunt – "Become a Republican."
    One respondent took a dig at Romney's scheduled mid-day ice cream social in Milford on Friday, saying he shouldn't have ice cream socials on a Friday afternoon "while the real voters are at work."
    Yet another urged Romney to show off his human side. "Be one of us. Water ski on Winnipesaukee. Let's see more group family stuff."
    Ron Paul 2012
    Virginia
    So far so good for us in Virginia. (Google gives now "news" of 16 hours ago the latest. What a shame.)
    "Gov. Bob McDonnell, who is on a trade mission in Europe, has endorsed Bolling for the nomination. He had urged the State Central Committee to stick with a primary.
    Friday's vote was swayed by a wave of newly elected committee members, many of whom represented tea party interests and were supporters of Rep. Ron Paul's presidential candidacy.
    Those constituencies are believed to favor Cuccinelli, who has gained their embrace by railing against government overreach and by filing lawsuits against the federal health care overhaul and against greenhouse gas regulations advanced by the Environmental Protection Agency."
    http://www2.timesdispatch.com/news/virginia-politics/2012/ju...
    ...
    "(...)The committee voted 47-31 to rescind an October 2011 decision to have a primary and to instead nominate the 2013 Republican ticket in a convention. New members elected to the state central committee this spring on pro-convention platforms pushed for the change, saying it reflected the will of the party's grass-roots activists. (...)"
