The official White House statement, via spokesman Jay Carney:
The White House responds to all petitions that cross the threshold and we will respond to this one. In the meantime, it is worth remembering that the freedom of expression is a bedrock principle in our democracy."

That is very interesting how they promised Alex Jones 3 segments and then reneged on him.

TODAY ON THE ALEX JONES SHOW

    • Ron Paul and
      Alex's thinly-veiled
      death threats

On the invigorating Wednesday, January 9 edition of Infowars Live, Alex Jones confronts the veiled threats against his life as so-called pundits joke about killing him on nationwide television. He'll continue to explore the media's fascination with his impassioned speech on Piers Morgan Tonight and also continue to break down their attempts to demonize himself and law-abiding gunowners. On today's show, Alex welcomes exiting Congressman Ron Paul to speak about the establishment's attempt to “brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way,” to quote Eric Holder. He'll also welcome Executive Director of Gun Owners of America, Mr. Larry Pratt, to chat about their respective interviews with the British citizen engaged in subversion of the Constitution. We'll also cover other controversial news items and take your calls.

    FROM CNN:

Alex Jones may be the king of conspiracy

    By Ben Brumfield, CNN
updated 11:12 AM EST, Wed January 9, 2013

Alex Jones: Don't dare take our guns

    STORY HIGHLIGHTS

    • Alex Jones espouses conspiracy theories over more than 100 radio stations
    • He says he believes globalist bankers want to establish world dominion
    • Jones supported the Branch Davidian church, famous for the Waco standoff of 1993
    • His website biography says he has made more than 15 films

(CNN) -- Conspiracies abound, Alex Jones will tell you.

Bankers pull the strings on world governments to solidify their power. Companies are harming you and ducking responsibility. Antidepressants are "suicide mass murder pills." President Barack Obama is using drones against Americans.

And the collapse of the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001, was engineered by the government.

Now, he's attacking CNN host Piers Morgan, depicting the British native of being a "red coat" out to step on Americans' rights and calling for his deportation.

In recent segments on Morgan's show, Jones accused him of wanting to take Americans' guns, hurling insults at Morgan in between shouted arguments.

"You're a hatchet man of the new world order. You're a hatchet man," Jones told Morgan on Monday. "And I want to say this right here, you think you're a tough guy? Have me back with a boxing ring in here, and I'll wear red, white, and blue, and you can wear your jolly roger."

It's just all in a day's work for Jones, who simply sees himself as a bulwark against efforts by everyone from the Gates Foundation -- run by Microsoft founder Bill Gates -- to conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh to undermine the free world.

Rolling Stone once called him "the most paranoid man in America."

In a commentary on his website, Jones objected to the use of the word "paranoid," but otherwise corroborated the accuracy of the Rolling Stones article, which described an extreme distrust of prominent world institutions, leaders and media figures.

Jones, who started out on one radio station in 1996, espouses his theories on a three-hour daily syndicated radio program he says is carried on 140 stations.
It also streams over the Internet and listeners also can dial in by phone.

Jones also appears as a guest on "Conspiracy Theory" with former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura, as well as on Fox News, Russia Today and mainstream television networks and cable stations in the United States and Britain, according to his Genesis Communications biography.

He's cranked out more than 15 films, according to his website biography, all espousing predictions of a dire future. Titles warn of a coming "Police State," the impending "Fall of the Republic" and the undermining of American society by Obama -- who Jones says is paving the way for world dominance by corporations and banks.

He has also a YouTube channel and two websites -- PrisonPlanet.com is the other one -- but it nearly duplicates Infowars in format and content.

Jones' official biography on Infowars cites Thomas Jefferson and George Washington as influences and describes him as "a dedicated and aggressive Constitutionalist" defending the Bill of Rights.

That includes support for the Branch Davidian church, which gained notoriety during a 1993 shootout and ensuing 50-day standoff with federal agents in Waco, Texas.

Later, Jones led an effort to rebuild the church, according to his biography.

His aim with his radio show, website and films is to convince and warn, intensely.

"They say the pen is mightier than the sword," Genesis touts, "but in the case of Alex Jones, the microphone is mightier than depleted uranium."

The Anti-Defamation League says Jones surpasses conservative radio host Glenn Beck for anti-government hostility, placing both on the "extreme fringes."

In 2009, Psychology Today said Jones hand picks facts to drive home his theories.

It posed the question: "When does incredulity become paranoia?"

"Information is the conspiracy theorists' weapon of choice because if there's one thing they all agree on, it's that all the rest of us have been brainwashed," writes psychologist John Gartner.

Their theories range from "suspicion to full-on paranoia," he writes, and they see arguments to the contrary by others as attempts to cover up the evidence.
Jones, of course, doesn't see it that way.

Arguments in favor of gun control, for instance, are nothing but blunt efforts to demolish democracy and usher in a new age of totalitarianism.

"They've taken everybody's guns but the Swiss and the American people," he told Morgan Monday. "And when they get our guns, they can have their world tyranny while the government buys 1.6 billion bullets, armored vehicles, tanks, helicopters, predator drones, armed now in U.S. skies, being used to arrest people in North Dakota."

I agree how some might have thought AJ as over the top - but anyone who listens in on his show knows that this is how he is and is prone to it - especially when he feels freedom being threatened. Personally, I thought he was GREAT. If Piers is going to dish it out, he should be ready to accept it thrown right back at him. A lot of us are SICK of playing "nice" with these elitist jerks.

Alex Jones did not go on that show to be "interviewed". He went there to get the word out, which he did succeed in even if you don't like how it was delivered. The gun grabbers think we are all nuts anyway. Nothing we say or do will change their minds, so why keep on with the civility? Good manners are what caused the Brits to lose their county. Americans need more fire in their bellys and AJ was and is on fire.

LOCAL TV ANCHOR DELIVERS BLISTERING FACT-CHECK OF PIERS MORGAN’S ANTI-GUN CLAIM

    January 9, 2013 at 10:23am by
    Billy Hallowell

The gun control debate is often highly-emotional, with both sides throwing out statistics in an effort to sway Americans to either side of the aisle. Since the Sandy Hook shooting last month,
CNN’s Piers Morgan has emerged as a vocal proponent for increased gun control laws. This week, after Morgan’s very public, on-air spat with radio host Alex Jones, Ben Swann, a local Fox anchor for WXIX-TV in Cincinnati, offered up a fascinating fact-check of some of the stats that the British CNN host has been using. Morgan will surely find the results unpalatable.

Swann tackled a litany of statistics, but took particular aim at one number that Morgan has repeatedly mentioned in recent days. During his exchange with Jones, the CNN host alleged that Great Britain only had 35 gun-related murders in 2011 compared to 11,000 that unfolded in the U.S. during that same timeframe. Swann, though, debunked this claim, delving deeply into crime statistics to make better sense of the numbers.

Ben Swann, a local Fox anchor for WXIX-TV, fact checks CNN host Piers Morgan’s gun claims (Photo Credit: WXIX-TV)

“There were 12,664 homicides in the U.S. Of those 8,583 were caused by firearms,” he explainedin a video posted on WXIX-TV’s web site. “But of those, 400 are listed as justifiable homicide by law enforcement — 260 justifiable homicide by private citizens.”

Based on this analysis, Morgan’s claim that 11,000 people died needlessly in the U.S. as a result of poor gun control measures seems to fall flat (the number is lower, however it is still higher than Great Britain’s — so, on that point, Morgan has some standing). Swann continued, noting that the CNN host is also wrong about his claim that only 35 firearm deaths unfolded in Great Britain — a figure which is actually closer to 59, the reporter alleged.

Swann noted that those like Morgan who seek greater gun control measures lose their argument when they claim that “fewer guns equals less crime.” To make this point, he explored the crime rates in Great Britain, the U.S. and other nations around the globe.

“The U.S. has the highest gun ownership in the world…[making it] first in the world for gun ownership,” said Swann. “[The] U.S., despite being number one in gun ownership, is number 28 in gun homicide, with a rate of 2.97 per 100,000 people.”

In exploring the United Kingdom’s numbers (Great Britain is part of the UK), some of Morgan’s arguments again seem to falter, as Swann notes that the UK has the second-highest overall crime rate in the European Union (EU); the EU has also named Britain the most violent country in the union.

“In the UK, there are 2,034 violent crimes per 100,000 people,” Swann noted, showcasing that fewer guns is certainly not indicative of a lower crime rate (the rate in the U.S. is 466 per 100,000 residents).

The stat-driven segment ended with Swann delivering a message that gun control advocates will undoubtedly dislike. Rather than blaming weapons, the anchor said that individuals are accountable for violent actions.

“While people like Morgan insist that the U.S. can learn from Great Britain — well maybe we can,” Swann concluded. “What we might learn is that violent crime is not the result of a gun or any tool — it is the result of the heart of men and women.”

Professor won’t back down from Newtown massacre conspiracy theory

By Claudine Zap | The Lookout – 15 mins ago

A media professor at Florida Atlantic University who is questioning the Sandy Hook massacre has caused controversy with his conspiracy claims.

James Tracy, who writes a blog where he voices his conspiracy theories, believes the events that unfolded at Sandy Hook did not happen as reported.

The professor writes on his blog, memoryholeblog.com, “While it sounds like an outrageous claim, one is left to inquire whether the Sandy Hook shooting ever took place—at least in the way law enforcement authorities and the nation’s news media have described.” He suggests on his blog and that there were multiple shooters and that the number of dead is incorrect. The blog post was published on the site Global Research, where it caught the attention of the Web.

The professor, who is known for his conspiracy theories on 9/11 and the Oklahoma bombing believes, as he claims on his blog and recently stated on a radio show, that trained “crisis actors” may have been employed by the Obama administration to shape public opinion on gun control.

The 47-year-old, who holds a PhD from the University of Iowa in mass communication, wrote on his blog, “ As documents relating to the Sandy Hook shooting continue to be assessed and interpreted by independent researchers there is a growing awareness that the media coverage of the massacre of 26 children and adults was intended primarily for public consumption to further larger political ends.”

According to his faculty profile the professor "teaches courses examining the relationship between commercial and alternative news media and socio-political issues and events." He also lists his recent work in “Censored 2013: Sourcebook for the Media Revolution. The Top Censored Stories and Media Analysis of 2011-2012."

When questioned of his theories by a local CBS12 news reporter, Tracy responded, "Well, I think the whole country mourned about Sandy Hook, but yet again the investigation that journalistic institutions should have carried out, never took place in my opinion."

He added, " I think as a society we need to look at things more carefully. Perhaps, we as a society, have been conditioned to be duped."

His blog, with 222 followers, lays out his conspiracy theory in detail, suggesting that it was a training exercise where actually nobody was killed, for example. He writes, "To declare that the shooting 'never took place' is cause for intense opprobrium in most polite circles where, in familiar Orwellian fashion, the media-induced trance and dehistoricized will to believe maintain their hold."

Tracy’s employer has distanced itself from its faculty member’s remarks. Mary Jane Saunders, the president of Florida Atlantic University, said in a statement sent to Yahoo News that reads in part:
I am sure that many of you are aware of the recent comments by a Florida Atlantic University faculty member regarding the tragic events that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, on December 14. I want to make it clear that those views and opinions are not shared by Florida Atlantic University, and I am personally saddened by any media stories that have added to the pain felt by the victims’ families. FAU joins the entire nation and people around the world in feeling profound grief for the lives lost on that awful day.
