Thread: Illegals will be lining at California DMV offices today!

I believe today is the first day illegals become eligible for a California driver's license. This is not a good thing, especially since California has more illegals than any other state in the country.

If we had a gooberment with a spine, they'd be greeted by buses, loaded up and deported with the msg come back you'll be spending time in a tent city jail for a few years at hard labor.

I hope someone can get some powerful pictures of those lines of illegals in California so we can distribute them nationally. Good pictures of that would really help stir up a backlash.

Apply for Your Original Driver License

Applicants applying for a driver license under AB 60 can now make an appointment online, on the DMV Now iPhone/ Android applications or by phone at 1-800-777-0133, to visit a DMV office.

Note: This appointment should be made as an “Original Driver License.” and is required for all original driver license applications. However, same day service is available at driver license processing centers (DLPC) without an appointment.

Saturday office hours are available at select offices by appointment exclusively for driver license transactions.

Customers applying for an original driver license will need to do the following:

• Study for the driver license knowledge test
• Make an appointment before visiting a DMV office (walk-ins are only accepted at our Driver License Processing Centers)
• Complete a driver license application form (DL 44) available at the DMV office
• Under AB 60, applicants will need to provide DMV with:
  
  • Proof of identity and California residency
  
  
• Pass a vision test, knowledge test, and if applicable, a road sign test
• Give a thumb print
• Have a picture taken
• Schedule a future appointment for the behind-the-wheel driving test, if applicable

California is the tenth state to issue the Driving Privilege license to illegal immigrants, after Nevada, Colorado, Washington state, Utah, New Mexico, Washington DC, Connecticut, Vermont and Illinois.

New Mexico has been giving driver's licenses to illegal aliens since 2003.

I was out so I drove by dmv on Normal street and the line was out the door just like always, maybe 20 more people in the line than usual. And a tv news truck parked in front.

Waiting in line beside his father at a Fresno DMV, 11-year-old Brian Mejia was glad his dad was being allowed to take a driver's license test, so his father and other undocumented people "don't have to be scared" when they get behind the wheel of a car.

Friday marked the first day people who can't prove they entered the United States legally were allowed to apply for a California driver's license, made possible by a law, AB 60, signed by Gov. Jerry Brown in 2013.

By about 11 a.m. Friday, it was estimated that more than 200 people had come to the central Fresno DMV on West Olive Avenue to take a driver's license test under AB 60. A table with a bilingual interpreter was in the middle of the lobby to help people fill out paperwork and direct them to the proper counters.

Across the state, 1.4 million people were expected to apply for a license under AB 60 over the next three years of a program aimed at boosting road safety and making immigrants’ lives easier.

California officials couldn’t predict how many people would immediately apply, but the number of people making appointments for a license more than doubled when immigrants were allowed to sign up.

California is one of 10 states that now provide licenses to immigrants in the country illegally. The licenses issued to immigrants without legal status will include a distinctive marking and are not considered a valid form of federal identification.

Among those applying Friday at the central Fresno DMV was Jaime Mora, 38, a construction worker from Mexico and father of two young girls. Mora has been in the United States almost 12 years. The Fresno man said he drives by necessity -- for work or to care for his family -- but never felt comfortable without a license.

Neither did his wife, Paula Mora, 34. Walking into the DMV early Friday morning, she was excited -- though she'd been up since 3 a.m. studying for the test.

Her husband was confident she'd do great: Paula Mora volunteers as a crossing guard at the school the girls attend, Yokomi Elementary, so she is "pretty familiar with traffic," he bragged.

But it wasn't meant to be Friday. She was turned away for not bringing the proper paperwork and her test rescheduled to Saturday. It was frustrating for Mora, who said she called DMV for information about what she needed to bring and thought she had the proper identification.

She wasn't alone -- at least a couple others near her also were told to come back another day for the same reason.
