Muslim Brotherhood, Egyptian President Morsi Involved in Benghazi

2 Hours Ago by Tim Brown

Libyan Intelligence Confirms: Muslim Brotherhood, Egyptian President Morsi Involved in Benghazi

Just two days after the attacks on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, reports were already coming out that the Muslim Brotherhood led Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi was somehow involved in the attacks. At the beginning of June, journalist Cynthia Farahat, linked Morsi to Benghazi from the same video in the link above and recently one of Egypt’s politicians was caught on a hot mic discussing war with their enemies, namely Israel and the United States. Now, according to a Libyan Intelligence document, the Muslim Brotherhood, including Egyptian President Morsi, were involved in the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, where several Americans, including U.S. ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, were killed.

Pamela Geller discussed this very thing on September 15, 2012 on Fox and Friends.

Image of the Libyan intelligence document

    Raymond Ibrahim reports:

On Wednesday, June 26, several Arabic websites, including Veto Gate, quoted the intelligence report, which apparently was first leaked to the Kuwaiti paper, Al Ra’i. Prepared by Mahmoud Ibrahim Sharif, Director of National Security for Libya, the report is addressed to the nation’s Minister of Interior.

It discusses the preliminary findings of the investigation, specifically concerning an “Egyptian cell” which was involved in the consulate attack. “Based on confessions derived from some of those arrested at the scene” six people, “all of them Egyptians” from the jihad group Ansar al-Sharia (“Supporters of Islamic Law), were arrested.

According to the report, during interrogations, these Egyptian jihadi cell members “confessed to very serious and important information concerning the financial sources of the group and the planners of the event and the storming and burning of the U.S. consulate in Benghazi…. And among the more prominent figures whose names were mentioned by cell members during confessions were: Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi; preacher Safwat Hegazi; Saudi businessman Mansour Kadasa, owner of the satellite station, Al-Nas; Egyptian Sheikh Muhammad Hassan; former presidential candidate, Hazim Salih Abu Isma’il…”

It should be noted that these findings are unsurprising: the supremacism of prominent Brotherhood figure Safwat Hegazi is such that he publicly declares the Brotherhood “will rule the world“; Saudi Mansour’s hate-mongering, pro-Brotherhood TV station repeatedly aired footage of the YouTube Muhammad movie inciting violence around the Muslim world; popular Sheikh Muhammad Hassan holds that smiling to non-Muslims is forbidden, except when trying to win them over to Islam; and Sheikh Hazim Abu Ismail is simply an openly anti-freedom, anti-infidel religious leader.

The theory concerning the trade for Ambassador Chris Stevens for the “Blind Sheik” Omar Abdel Rahman has been circulated for quite a while now. However, as Dean Garrison points out, “Morsi has been the missing link to hold that story together.” We’ve been told that Stevens was also involved in the movement of stinger missiles and that he died from a lethal injection, not smoke inhalation.

The United States is arming and aiding a known enemy and terrorist in Mohamed Morsi. We’ve supplied them recently with $1.3 billion in aid right on the heels of slipping them $250 million. We’ve sent them 20 F-16s along with helped them get $1 billion worth of German U-boats.

Additionally, our own State Department hired Al-Qaeda operatives to provide security for the diplomatic mission in Benghazi!

One would wonder why Obama and his cronies wouldn’t be bringing this to light and implicating Morsi in the attack. It would seem to reason that this would alleviate some of the pressure from his administration, though not all of it. The only thing one can seriously consider here is that the Obama administration is indeed complicit in the attack in Benghazi.

Garrison seems to have hit the nail on the head on this piece of evidence. He writes:

My opinion is that the pieces have fallen together and Benghazi has been blown wide open. You probably won’t get that story on CNN but take all of the facts we have and look how they fit together.

Obama agreed to send the Blind Sheik home but he needed Stevens to make it look like a valid prisoner exchange. He made a deal to set it up. It blew up in his face and now we see our congressional leaders chasing their tails like puppy dogs while conveniently avoiding the important questions. The truth lies in Morsi’s involvement and our government’s obvious efforts to protect him. I would be shocked if this is not the real story. Though we may never actually know.

I believe that it was more than a case of negligence by our government. I believe they share guilt in the murder of four Americans. I believe they set it up.

    Obama proposes $800 million
    in aid for "Arab Spring"

    By Susan Cornwell
    WASHINGTON | Mon Feb 13, 2012 12:39pm EST

(Reuters) - The White House announced plans on Monday to help "Arab Spring" countries swept by revolutions with more than $800 million in economic aid, while maintaining U.S. military aid to Egypt.

In his annual budget message to Congress, President Barack Obama asked that military aid to Egypt be kept at the level of recent years -- $1.3 billion -- despite a crisis triggered by an Egyptian probe targeting American democracy activists.

The proposals are part of Obama's budget request for fiscal year 2013, which begins October 1. His requests need the approval of Congress, where some lawmakers want to cut overseas spending to address U.S. budget shortfalls and are particularly angry at Egypt.

Obama proposed $51.6 billion in funding for the U.S. State Department and foreign aid overall, when $8.2 billion in assistance to war zones is included. The "core budget" for the category would increase by 1.6 percent, officials said.

Most of the economic aid for the Arab Spring countries -- $770 million -- would go to establish a new "Middle East and North Africa Incentive Fund," the president said in his budget plan.

Analysts said it was difficult to tell how much of the proposal was actually new money.

    ...

The proposal said this approach "expands our bilateral economic support in countries such as Tunisia and Yemen, where transitions are already underway."

It would also build on other programs for the area, including up to $2 billion in regional Overseas Private Investment Corporation financing, up to $1 billion in debt swaps for Egypt, and approximately $500 million in existing funds re-allocated to respond to the region last year, the budget document said.

It did not say how the Middle East and North Africa Incentive Fund would be divided between countries, or give any other details of the plan.

Egypt has long been among the top recipients of U.S. aid, getting about $1.6 billion annually, mostly in military assistance. In fiscal 2012, $250 million of aid approved for Egypt was economic; $1.3 billion was military and there was a $60 million "enterprise fund" approved by Congress.

No U.S. assistance is moving to Egypt at the moment, U.S. lawmakers and their aides said last week. Some legislators favor cutting off aid to Egypt entirely if it does not drop accusations against American democracy activists and lift a travel ban on them.

Obama continued the practice of putting proposed foreign assistance for war zones in a separate account. This account, known as the "Overseas Contingency Operations," includes $8.2 billion for the State Department and foreign aid.

It includes $3.3 billion for Afghanistan, $1 billion for Pakistan, and $4 billion for Iraq, where U.S. troops have left the country but the State Department has picked up some of their functions such as police training.

U.S. Releases $250 Million in Aid to Egypt
After John Kerry’s Meeting With President Morsi

    Mar. 3, 2013 1:49pm | by Madeleine Morgenstern

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, left, shakes hands with Egyptian
President Mohamed Morsi at the Presidential Palace in Cairo, Egypt on
Sunday, March 3, 2013. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met with
Egypt’s president Sunday, wrapping up a visit to the deeply divided
country with an appeal for unity and reform. The U.S. is deeply
concerned that continued instability in Egypt will have broader
consequences in a region already rocked by unrest. (AP)

CAIRO (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday rewarded Egypt for President Mohammed Morsi’s pledges of political and economic reforms by releasing $250 million in American aid to support the country’s “future as a democracy.”

Yet Kerry also served notice that the Obama administration will keep close watch on how Morsi, who came to power in June as Egypt’s first freely elected president, honors his commitment.

“The path to that future has clearly been difficult and much work remains,” Kerry said in a statement after wrapping up two days of meetings in Egypt, a deeply divided country in the wake of the revolution that ousted longtime President Hosni Mubarak.

Egypt is trying to meet conditions to close on a $4.8 billion loan package from the International Monetary Fund. An agreement would unlock more of the $1 billion in U.S. assistance promised by President Barack Obama last year and set to begin flowing with Kerry’s announcement.

“The United States can and wants to do more,” Kerry said. “Reaching an agreement with the IMF will require further effort on the part of the Egyptian government and broad support for reform by all Egyptians. When Egypt takes the difficult steps to strengthen its economy and build political unity and justice, we will work with our Congress at home on additional support.”

Kerry cited Egypt’s “extreme needs” and Morsi’s “assurances that he plans to complete the IMF process” when he told the president that the U.S. would provide $190 million of a long-term $450 million pledge “in a good-faith effort to spur reform and help the Egyptian people at this difficult time.”

Separately, the top U.S. diplomat announced $60 million for a new fund for “direct support of key engines of democratic change,” including Egypt’s entrepreneurs and its young people. Kerry held out the prospect of U.S. assistance to this fund climbing to $300 million over time.

Recapping his meetings with political figures, business leaders and representatives of outside groups, Kerry said he heard of their “deep concern about the political course of their country, the need to strengthen human rights protections, justice and the rule of law, and their fundamental anxiety about the economic future of Egypt.”

Those issues came up in “a very candid and constructive manner” during Kerry’s talks with Morsi.

“It is clear that more hard work and compromise will be required to restore unity, political stability and economic health to Egypt,” Kerry said.

Syria and Iran also came up, according to officials.

With parliamentary elections in April approaching and liberal and secular opponents of Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood saying they will boycott, Kerry called the vote “a particularly critical step” in Egypt’s democratic transition.

Violent clashes between protesters and security forces have created an environment of insecurity, complicating Egyptian efforts to secure vital international aid.

Officials in the Egyptian presidency said Kerry stressed the need for consensus with the opposition in order to restore confidence in Egypt that it can ride out the crisis. Morsi was reported to have expressed the importance of Egypt’s relationship with United States, which is based on “mutual respect,” and focused on the importance of the democratic process in building a strong and stable nation.

Kerry made clear that in all his meetings, he conveyed the message that Egyptians who rose up and overthrew Mubarak “did not risk their lives to see that opportunity for a brighter future squandered.”

He also told the country’s bickering politicians that they must overcome differences to get Egypt’s faltering economy back on track and maintain its leadership role in the volatile Middle East.

The U.S. is deeply concerned that continued instability in Egypt will have broader consequences in a region already rocked by unrest.

U.S. officials said Kerry had planned to stress the importance of upholding Egypt’s peace agreement with Israel, cracking down on weapons smuggling to extremists in the Gaza Strip and policing the increasingly lawless Sinai Peninsula while continuing to play a positive role in Syria’s civil war.

The impact of his message of unity to the opposition coalition seemingly was blunted when only six of the 11 guests invited by the U.S. Embassy turned up for the Saturday session and three of those six said they still intended to boycott the April parliamentary election, according to participants.

Kerry said that the U.S. would not pick sides in Egypt, and he appealed to all sides to come together around human rights, freedom and speech and religious tolerance.

In an apparent nod to the current stalemate in Washington over the U.S. federal budget, Kerry acknowledged after meeting Foreign Minister Kamel Amr that compromise is difficult yet imperative.

“I say with both humility and with a great deal of respect that getting there requires a genuine give-and-take among Egypt’s political leaders and civil society groups just as we are continuing to struggle with that in our own country,” he said. `There must be a willingness on all sides to make meaningful compromises on the issues that matter most to all of the Egyptian people.”

The opposition accuses Morsi and the Brotherhood of following in the footsteps of Mubarak, failing to carry out reforms and trying to install a more religiously conservative system.

Morsi’s administration and the Brotherhood say their foes, who have trailed significantly behind Islamists in all elections since the uprising against Mubarak, are running away from the challenge of the ballot box and are trying to overturn democratic gains.
[ED.: Calling a totalitarian Is|amist government headed by the Mus|im Brotherhood a "democracy" does not make it one. But it does make something else of the person making that assertion.]

    REP. JONES:
NO MORE FOREIGN AID TO EGYPT AND SYRIAN REBELS

Mar 5, 2013 Issues: Economy and Jobs, Budget Spending and Taxes, Overseas Conflict

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) expressed disgust with the Obama administration’s recent commitment to send $250 million in foreign aid to the Egyptian government, which is led by the Muslim Brotherhood. In addition to the money being sent to Egypt, last week the administration announced another $50 million in U.S. aid to Syrian rebels, many of which are linked to radical Islamic groups, including Al-Qaeda. In a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry, Jones expressed his outrage at this blatant waste of American taxpayer dollars.

    “Dear Mr. Secretary:

I was appalled to learn that during your travels to Europe and the Middle East last week, you committed American taxpayers to another $250 million in foreign aid to the Egyptian government, which is led by the Muslim Brotherhood. The New York Times is reporting that the $250 million in aid will be divided into two parts: “a $190 million infusion for Egypt’s budget,” and “$60 million for the creation of a fund to support small businesses.”

With all due respect, are you kidding? America is nearly broke! This administration has run annual federal deficits of over $1 trillion in each of the past four years, and now you’re going to shovel millions to the Egyptian government to help fill their budget gaps? And $60 million to support Egyptian small businesses? What about jobs and small businesses right here in America?

I was also troubled to hear you announce another $50 million in U.S. aid to rebels in Syria, many of whom are linked to radical Islamic groups, including Al-Qaeda. CBS News is reporting that in addition to the newly announced $50 million giveaway, “Washington has already provided $385 million in humanitarian aid to Syria . . . and $54 million in . . . other nonlethal assistance to Syria's political opposition.” In total, that’s roughly $500 million in American foreign aid to the Syrian rebels.

Mr. Secretary, the American people are fed up with this waste. Poll after poll shows Americans prefer cutting foreign aid over all other options to reduce spending. The American people know it makes zero sense to borrow money from China in order to pay the bills of the Egyptian government and Syrian rebels. This is especially true at a time when this administration is cutting our military here at home through sequestration. I strongly urge you to respect the will of the American people and stop wasting their money.”

    Rep. Coffman Calls for
Cut in U.S. Aid to Egypt

    March 14, 2013
    By Observer Staff

    Coffman says it’s time to
    scale back U.S. taxpayer
    assistance to Egypt

DENVER – U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Aurora) blasted the Obama administration on Wednesday for suspending tuition assistance benefits for Army and Marine Corps servicemen, and called on the White House to restore funding to the program by paring back U.S. assistance to Egypt.

“We are not under any obligation to continue to provide [Egypt] with over a billion and a half dollars in aid every year. Re-prioritizing this funding to our soldiers and Marines is the right thing to do,” said Coffman.

Coffman has proposed trimming $500 million from unspent foreign aid to Egypt, and reprogramming the funding to the military tuition assistance program.

U.S. taxpayers have provided Egypt with more than $60 billion in military and economic assistance since 1979, and Secretary of State John Kerry announced that the Obama administration would provide another $250 million during a visit to Egypt earlier this month.

Critics have questioned the wisdom of continuing to provide billions in U.S. assistance to the country given the Muslim Brotherhood’s rise to power after longtime Egyptian strongman Hosni Mubarak was forced from power two years ago.

According to one recent public opinion survey, 58 percent of Americans believe that the U.S. should cut off foreign aid to Arab countries in the Middle East.

Coffman also took aim at the White House for what he characterized as its failure to exercise discretion or common sense in carrying out modest reductions in government spending that were approved by Congress.

“Whether it’s suspending tours at the White House to punish school children, compromising public safety by mass releases of illegal aliens with criminal records, or with this most recent ploy to go out of their way to hurt our service members, this Administration has shown no boundaries in what they will do to win their public relations battle regarding sequestration,” said Coffman.

“This administration not only specifically stated that they do not want any additional authority from Congress to better prioritize these cuts in order to protect important programs, they failed to utilize the latitude they have to prioritize,” he added.

According to a press release from Coffman’s office, the lawmaker utilized tuition assistance programs early in his military career.

Sen. Rand Paul Hammers Sec. Kerry with
250 Million Dollar Question of Aid to Egypt

Posted on April 19, 2013 by Dean Garrison

    Sen. Rand Paul

“Has some money been stolen? Absolutely.”
    – John Kerry, Secretary of State

On Thursday, during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, Senator Rand Paul asked the $250 Million Dollar question that Americans have been waiting for an answer to:

“Thank you, Secretary Kerry, for coming today. You mention in your remarks that we don’t need politicians to go home and say that we need to end foreign aid and spend that money at home. Well, this might come as news to one of the most prominent politicians in our country who said in his re-election campaign that we need to do less nation building abroad and more nation building at home, and that would be your current boss, the President of the United States. So I don’t think this is unique to Republicans or Democrats. In fact I think this crosses all party lines. It is not me going home and creating an atmosphere where people are doubtful of foreign aid. It’s that 80 to 90 percent are doubtful.

We have two bridges in my state that are over 50 years old. The President came, and I flew down with him, to talk about re-building them. I’m in favor of replacing bridges and rebuilding our infrastructure. But at the same time, we seem to not have enough money to keep the doors open around here, not enough money to keep the touring of the White House open. This Administration sent and extra $250 million to Egypt. Many of us find that offensive.

We cannot even run the basic functions of government, and yet we send an extra $250 million in addition to the $2 billion we already send over there. So, many of us are offended by this. The question I have for you is, the Mubarak family is said to be worth more than $10 billion dollars. Most people say that a lot of that money came from our foreign aid.

Mobutu ruled for many, many years in Central Africa. He was said to be worth millions upon millions, if not billions of dollars. His wife was called “Gucci” Mobutu. She was famous for going to Paris and shopping for shoes with a Louis Vuitton bag full of $500,000 in cash to $1 million in cash. That money was looted from the American Treasury. There are all kinds of examples of theft and kleptocracy. There’s examples of our foreign aid being used to buy tear gas in Egypt and used to spray on the Egyptian people. So I don’t think it even buys the good will of the people because often it’s stolen by their leaders who are unpopular in their country. So I think it’s often counterproductive. But I think we are missing the boat here if you think that we’re stoking the fires and that the people don’t already believe this.

This is something that is already in the psyche of the people. People are upset about it and would rather spend money at home. But, I’d like your comments on the President’s position but also on the idea that a lot of foreign aid has been stolen by these leaders.”

Kerry’s full response can be seen and heard on the attached video, but at one point the Secretary of State admitted, “Has some money been stolen? Absolutely.”

Senator Paul went on to question Kerry about our official position in Syria. Full contents of the exchange can be seen in this video or accessed through Rand Paul’s Senate Website.

Obama Readies US Marines to Assist in Egypt… But Wouldn’t Send US Marines to Benghazi

Posted by Jim Hoft on Saturday, June 29, 2013, 12:14 AM

The Obama Administration put the US Marines were on alert in southern Europe today as a precaution in advance of massive protests expected in Egypt.

But the Obama Administration wouldn’t send US Marines in Europe to assist the US Ambassador in Benghazi on 9-11.

Four Americans were killed in the Benghazi terrorist attacks on 9-11 including the US ambassador.

    CNN reported:

U.S. Marines stationed in southern Europe have been put on alert as a precaution in advance of expected large demonstrations and potential unrest in Egypt this weekend, CNN has learned.
About 200 combat capable Marines in Sigonella, Italy, and Moron, Spain, have been told to be ready to be airborne within 60 minutes of getting orders to deploy, according to two administration officials.

The units have several V-22 tilt-rotor aircraft that would carry troops and infantry weapons to Egypt to protect the U.S. Embassy and American government personnel and citizens if violence broke out against Americans.

The planned demonstrations are aimed against the Egyptian government.

The officials both emphasized this is contingency planning in advance of the expected demonstrations to ensure American military assets, including rescue forces, can act if needed. In the event Americans had to be evacuated from Egypt and could not get to the airport due to the unrest, there are about 2,000 additional Marines on board three Navy warships in the Red Sea, officials said.
A third official said the decision to keep the warship in the Red Sea was “very precautionary.”

The United States expects Egyptian security forces will be able to protect American assets and personnel. No plans for personnel to leave have been announced, State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell said Friday.

You just can’t make this stuff up.
