For that matter, how much impact does a VP have? the VP's pretty much there in case something happens to the POTUS and he can't perform his duties. Yeah, the VP does do some relatively minor things, but ordinarily I don't think they have a whole heck of a lot of impact. But I could be wrong.

I'm going to guess he trusts their judgment and respects their opinions and is seeking their input before he makes a decision. They've been part of his campaign team, so it's not like they haven't been involved.

Go back to the Reagans. Voters did not elect Nancy and after Ronnie was shot, Nancy had a hand and say in everything he did after that point. She was even responsible for his chief of staff Don Regan being replaced.

When a VP is selected, the thought is he/she can handle the Presidency just in case. They have all come from political careers that have born fruit at one time or another. Hopefully they offer more than just occupying a beaitiful mansion and presiding over the Senate.

When we see Trumps sons/daughters involved with his decisions, we question their political experience and input relative to that experience. Understandably, his children have been somewhat of a reality check for him throughout the last ten or fifteen years. It is what it is.

Anybody know anything about Pence's wife and family? Newt wife and family? Session's wife and family?

My main concern about Cruz was his wife's ties to Wall Street and her influence in Cruz' decisions. We do not need that! Then you had the "Clinton Corruption Team".

Now Obama's wife flying all over the World sticking her nose in other Countries business GIVING our money away.

These 1st ladies need to stick to charity, correspondence and being a host to visitor's! They are given too much power and we are not electing them or their 2 cents worth.

The Trump family members are campaign advisors. They aren't going to be active in his government, they have full lives and huge businesses to run.
