    Miguel Contreras to Head ICE?

Hispanic retired federal supervisory criminal investigator candidate for the position of Assistant Secretary, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement

Washington D.C. – Miguel Angel Contreras is proud to announce that he is a candidate for the position of Assistant Secretary, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The position of Assistant Secretary, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a sub-cabinet presidential appointment that requires U.S. Senate confirmation. In 2007, according to the ICE’s website, the Assistant Secretary directed “the largest investigative component of the Department of Homeland Security and the second largest investigative agency in the federal government, with more than 16,000 employees, including 6,000 investigators, and an annual budget of more than $4 billion. ICE is comprised of four integrated divisions that form a 21st century law enforcement agency with broad responsibilities for a number of key homeland security priorities.â€

A recent post from Contreras from this same website. It's long but shows his mindset and priorities:

Two ICE Raids and 99 suspected illegal aliens in custody shows our U.S. Government’s vulnerability security infrastructure risk!

Finally, I can say thank you U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for showing that our U.S. government’s national security critical infrastructure is as weak as a "Samson without his hair."

[b]Nevertheless, these two raids were nothing but a “showâ€

Miguel Angel Contreras, age 53, was born near Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico and was immigrated into the USA in 1968 as a Lawful Alien Permanent Resident (I-151). He started working as a migrant field laborer at age 12 to support his single mother and two brothers until he was 18. Without a GED or High School diploma, he applied for admission at Arizona Western College and after taking a written examination he was accepted.
As long as he came LEGALLY, more power to him. Saying that, I sincerely hope he continues to be an advocate of enforcing immigration laws, regardless of ethnicity.

Immigrants were not eligible for social services in 1968. I emigrated in 1967 and there was no such thing.

This could be a good thing!

Wow! Finally someone in Obama cabinet that actually that is not an Illegals advocate! I'm surprised ( and hope to be delighted) that Obama choose him!

[b]What are you going to do to stop the unlawful and despicable acts of racial profiling? Too many U.S. Citizens are being illegally searched and arrested by ICE, CBP, state and local law enforcement agencies who have been given federal immigration authority to enforce our federal laws, assuming that the U.S. Citizen is an illegal alien?

Now, walking, driving, flying, and navigating while black or brown apparently is a crime or at least, a reason for the above mentioned agencies to enforce our federal immigration laws. Numerous class action lawsuits are being filed against the above agencies for violating our constitutional rights. At the end, we the tax-payers end-up paying for all of the misdeeds our supposed to be “protectorsâ€

Huh?!? Did we just read the same articles? He certainly sounds like an illegal immigrant "avocate" to me. At a minimum, he doesn't sound like he supports attrition through enforcement.

Sound like a pro-Amensty, pro-illegal alien, open borders advocate to me. Try reading the article again and you will see he is NOT ADVOCATE of enforcing our immigration laws.

and some right on target such as the cost involved when ICE conducts such employment raids, the lack of taking enforcement action against the employers, and finally the weakness of our national security critical infrastructure.
What cost? An agent shows up for work, is given the mission, executes it and does not expect a million-dollar bonus. The only cost is to the illegal alien employer having to shut down until he/she can replace staff and the cost to American taxpayers who have to supplement the income of illegals, support their anchor babies, educate everyone on the earthball, etc.
I cannot believe this guy is promoting his candidacy with public articles about his demand for the job--more rhetoric. This application for the job should be done with a discussion with the incoming administration. How arrogant.
