I honestly believe, it's just a matter of time before we get an American born president of a Hispanic/Latino decent.
We can only pray, if and when it happens, that their allegiance is 100%with the United States.

If the blacks and the Jews have never had an American president, what makes you think that an Hispanic will make it since most have the blinders on that is characteristic of their culture?

I guess, being a Native American myself, I would have to say I see no reason not to have a person of "color" for our President so long as he is a citizen born in our country, and honors our laws and constitution. Nothing says we have to have white only presidents! As for as Bush's son though, I would not vote for him simply because he is a BUSH!I think we have had enough of them to last for a good long while.
I need to make an edit to this post, I said no reason for someone of color who was born in these United States, to be able to run for president, I also think his parents should be legal citizens of this country for them to qualify to run for out president.Build the dam fence post haste!

Nittygritty, I am a person who has many ethnic backgrounds in my family/extended family....we are all Americans. The problem that I see is that when you have someone who of a certain background and they utilize that background as part of their platform which does not deal in the realm of being an American and working for Americans, then that person does not warrant running for office. I can certainly see when there was profound racism in this country that some organizations were established and a lot has been accomplished along those lines, however, when you have people who have come here illegally, demand rights which they are not entitled to and politicians sanction their illegality, then it's time to expose the situation and break up their causes.

I am for the person, as long as I don't sense a specific agenda on their part to promote one race over another. I would never vote for George P. Bush.

Newmexican, I agree with you and by the same token, I was pro Bush in days gone by, but over the past several years I definitely question what has transpired and where we are going. I can certainly accept mistakes happening and bad calls being made, but when the situation of the war in Iraq has gone this far and the problems associated with illegal immigration being as bad as they are, then it's time to question the picture. I certainly don't see the Chinese or Russians helping us to protect their interests in Iraq and the region and likewise, I know damn well that they don't tolerate illegal immigration to their territories.

I think he is a La Raza boy. He was going to speak at the Dallas March and backed out at the last minute.
George P. Bush, the nephew of President George W. Bush, was among several scheduled to speak at the rally.
I don't trust him as far as I can throw him. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIP.../02/se.02.htmlI was in 7th grade and there is a leader within the Latino community, his name is Caesar Chavez, and he passed away one day. And my mother came to me and she was crying in tears.
