    Distortion

I read with interest when in Missouri, their DHS type department issued a 'right wing extremist' memo to law enforcement, it was investigated & was subsequently removed & apologies issued. Apparently, they found that the Southern Poverty Law Center & Anti-Defamation League had provided the bulk of info which was used to justify the law enforcement warnings.
It looks like these groups have turned from protections, to advocacy of left wing ideals & goals. They assume, wrongly I think, that when their members or protected groups are assaulted or vilified or mocked or discriminated against, that it is exclusively & only right wingers. How naive of them. How narrow-minded of them. On a number of occasions, I have seen hate groups in action. The members of those groups were definitely NOT composed of solely right wingers. Many of the most vicious comments came from some I could easily describe as 'left wingers.' And lets be real here folks, there was no violence at the Town Halls on Health Care reform, until a liberal fawning media & even left wing politicians issued calls for the unions to mobilize against the protesters. Today, on Craigslist, many left wing advocacy community organizer groups are advertising for paid activists to go to Town Halls to deal with opponents of the President's plans for universal health care or the public option bureaucracy.
There are reports of one 'black' man assaulted for handing out Tea Party stickers & invitations, plus small Gadsden (sp?) "Don't Tread on Me" flags. (Hope I spelled the name right!!) Some of the left wing media are reportedly mocking the man's injuries & are now circulating reports his injuries are faked. Supposedly, even the blood he was spewing after the attack!
The DHS report, now revealed as a compilation of web surfing ventures by federal employees & apparently provided by suspiciously influential radical left wing special interest groups, may have just egged the DHS people on. The development of the report was started by Bush & I think may have been intended to really look for people on the fringe. It seems to me, once bureaucrats were protected by a left wing socialist president, they had a field day.
However, I wonder why in this report it is automatically assumed, the fringe belongs ONLY to the right? There are just as many actions taken by what could be called left wingers as there are by what could be called right wingers. That black man was assaulted by men reportedly from the SEIU union. A very left wing oriented group.
Timothy McVeigh was out of the mainstream of America. He had serious concerns with government actions & he took his concerns far too far. When Democrat President Bill Clinton send his Democrat Attorney General Janet Reno to Waco, Texas to put an end to the multiple days standoff w/ wacko David Koresh (sp?), it was an administration & official more closely aligned with the left wing, who gave the orders to attack the compound, where the attack resulted in the destruction of the compound & the deaths of all in the building. Not a Republican or right winger. The media would have all believe it was right wing extremism at work. Not so sure that's the case. Since subsequent investigations report there was connections to groups who are most definitely NOT right wing.
The point is, with DHS releasing this report & subsequently apologizing to Veterans, only one part of the apology has been given. The fact is, by marginalizing any who believe in the Constitution, limited government, low taxes, the 2nd Amendment, ending abortion on demand, what the government of this nation has done is portray actual Americans, as 'the fringe'. In short, a leftist centric government has now told all they could use this report to justify imposition of legal actions on groups just because they were mentioned in the report. Never mind one might be exercising their Constitutional rights. Never mind they may not be at all dangerous, just 'get em' under the guise they are protecting us.
It is suspected by many that this report was released to provide "cover" to potential future actions by this administration or even future administrations. Despite the fact that the document is a compilation of pseudo facts & web surfing targeting only certain web-pages, the government has what it could & might easily use as the logic & reasoning to one day cite it as the basis of making determinations to act against those who "the government" has decided are, a problem. For many this means, YOU could easily be targeted as the problem for the state. Of course, the state can 'never' be the problem. Right? Right?
