From Federation of American Immigration Reform-

Congress Holds Border Security Forum Tomorrow for a Big Decision: Secure the Borders Now or Sweep it Under the Rug Until After the Election.

Tell Them Now is the Time to Secure Our Borders!

Tomorrow, September 12, 2006, the House Republican Policy Committee will host a public forum to hear from Committee and Subcommittee Chairmen who held immigration field hearings in August.

This public forum was agreed upon as the next step in the immigration debate after House Leadership met with Committee Chairmen last week to discuss their initial impressions of the field hearings.

One of the major discussions leaders will have tomorrow is which, if any, border security provisions can be passed before the Members adjourn at the end of the month to campaign for the November elections. The border security forum tomorrow will therefore shape the legislative package House Leadership hopes to have on the Floor next week.

Whichever course of action the House chooses, Congress has the ability to secure our borders now. Below is the list of Committee and Subcommittee Chairmen who will be giving testimony tomorrow at this border security forum. Please call these Chairmen and tell them that the American public wants Congress to secure our borders! The American public must see the resolve of our elected officials to do what's right—and to do it NOW.
