The immigration issue came up in Washington - in the Senate as well as the White House. The Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security held the second in a series of five expected hearings on comprehensive immigration reform. Meanwhile, the White House announced plans to host a meeting on June 8th with Members of Congress from both parties to discuss moving forward on comprehensive immigration reform legislation this year. Subcommittee Chair Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) began Wednesday’s Senate hearing by citing recent U.S. opinion polls regarding immigration. Sen.
