1 dead in SUV rollover on Interstate 10, 11 others injured

One person died overnight when an SUV rolled on Interstate 10 south of the Valley.

Police say the driver of a Ford Expedition refused to stop when officials tried pulling him over for speeding.

The suspect led police on a chase of speeds up to 85 miles-per-hour.

He then lost control and rolled the SUV on the highway near Riggs Road.

One passenger was ejected from the vehicle and died.

Another 11 people inside the SUV were taken to a local hospital with injuries.

Police said all of the passengers in the vehicle speak spanish.

They're investigating whether they're undocumented immigrants.

It's unclear what charges the driver might face.
