100's of Immigrants Leave NC Slaughterhouse On Their Own

AP Newsbreak: Hundreds of immigrants leave N.C. slaughterhouse

RALEIGH, N.C. Hundreds of workers at a Smithfield Packing Company plant are quietly leaving their jobs or no longer showing up for work.

Those absences at the world's largest hog slaughterhouse in Tar Heel follow a crackdown on illegal immigrants employed there.

Company spokesman Dennis Pittman says some have submitted resignation letters and collected pay for unused vacation. He says that others identified by the company in November as having unverifiable employment documents quit without notice.

In all, Pittman said about 300 employees had left the plant on their own as of today.

In November, Smithfield sent letters to between 500 and 600 employees whose Social Security numbers, names or other personal information couldn't be verified. The company also fired about 50 workers for providing false information.

The firings spurred a massive walkout at the plant.

Now, tell me, where will they go if no one else hires them??????
Back home, that's where. Did we have to deport anyone????? Did it cost anything?????
So much for the BS that Bush, McCain, Giuliani and many others give us.
    Attrition works!

In November, Smithfield sent letters to between 500 and 600 employees whose Social Security numbers, names or other personal information couldn't be verified.
The plant manager said at some point possibly 40% of Smithfield's workforce could be illegal. Where're the other 1500?

The company also fired about 50 workers for providing false information.
But they turned around and hired them right back as soon as the union & church put a little heat on them.

    NO MORE SMITHFIELD.

I wonder how many people moved out of there after they were replaced by cheaper illegal alien labor and had to go elsewhere to find jobs.

Maybe the meatpacking plant really screwed themselves, could be a good lesson to others.

I hope they don't end up in my city.

I doubt very much that they will return to Mexico. Why should they? They get a free meal ticket in America.
