Two Mexican men have been sentenced to long prison terms in a drug trafficking case in Arizona.

Federal prosecutors say 32-year-old Eleazar Gurrola-Iriarte, of Culiacan, Sinaloa, was sentenced to more than 24 years in prison Tuesday while 36-year-old Oscar Ruben Gonzalez-Lopez, of La Llama, Sinaloa, got a 17 1/2-year term.

Authorities say both men pleaded guilty last August to conspiracy to possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Prior to his arrest in December 2008, authorities say Gurrola-Iriarte was one of the leaders of a large methamphetamine trafficking organization with operations in Mexico and Phoenix. They say Gurrola-Iriarte received large shipments of high-purity methamphetamine from Mexico and then diluted the drug prior to its distribution.

Authorities say Gonzalez-Lopez was responsible for supplying the diluted meth mixtures to the organization's delivery drivers, who would then distribute the substances to customers in and around Phoenix.
