Rossin Steel Inc. and Able Patrol and Guard are the latest San Diego County companies to join the Immigration and Customs Enforcement's IMAGE program by having their employment process reviewed and approved by the federal agency.
The program - ICE Mutual Agreement Between Government and Employers - involves an I-9 audit of employee files, enrollment in the E-Verify database program and other training to ensure the company does not employ or take on unauthorized workers.
In San Diego County there are 13 certified companies, including Rossin and Able Patrol.
“The new partnerships underscore the importance of protecting the integrity of the workforce while fostering best hiring practices,” said Derek Benner, special agent in charge for HSI San Diego. “When employers strive to maintain a lawful workforce, it’s good for their business and it’s good for the economy.”
Rossin Steel Inc., in Chula Vista, has worked on Horton Plaza and the airport tower at Lindberg Field. It has 80 employees.
Able Patrol and Guard, based in San Diego, provides uniformed security services and employs 120 people.
