Several immigrants arrested on Carlsbad beach

CARLSBAD — Several suspected illegal immigrants suspected of entering the country illegally by boat were taken into custody early Wednesday on a North County beach.

Agents with the Border Patrol rounded up the group just after 1:00 a.m. on South Carlsbad State Beach just south of Palomar Airport Road, said Border Patrol Agent Michael Jimenez.

Nineteen men and one woman, ages 24 to 55, who were all from Mexico were arrested, Jimenez said. Two of those were apprehended on the boat that had left the shore and was stopped and seized by agents, the agent said.

It seems like for the last two years or so we hear about this kind of thing about every other day.

Since Oct.1, there have been 93 seizures of boats and 745 suspected illegal immigrants apprehended, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

In the 12 months before Oct. 1, there were 49 seizures and 400-plus people apprehended.

cant get in by land. the water is the only other way.

So what are they going to do with them? give them a court date ( maybe they will get in sometime in the next 5 years) and turn them lose on American soil to steal someones SS number so they are able to take an Americans Job!

Or maybe give them a green card?

They fingerprint them and check them for outstanding warrants from all over the country. If they aren't wanted and have no previous entry charges they transport them to the border and deport them, often on the same day they are picked up.
