21 arrested in Metro Detroit in immigration crackdown

Detroit— Federal agents arrested 21 people in Metro Detroit during a nationwide crackdown on criminal aliens and immigration fugitives.

The arrests came last week during "Cross Check" enforcement operation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Nationwide, more than 3,100 people were arrested.

In all, 67 people were arrested in Michigan, primarily men from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Cuba, Iraq, El Salvador, Bosnia-Herzegovinian, Ghana, the U.K., Haiti and Lebanon.
