PHOENIX - Three suspected human smugglers appeared in federal court Friday after an investigation into a Phoenix drop house uncovered undocumented immigrants from eight countries earlier this week.

According to a news release from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE agents identified a possible drop house in the area of 89th Avenue and Thomas Road where on Wednesday they saw Samuel Antonio Vasquez pull into the garage in one vehicle and leave hours later in a different car.

Agents reportedly stopped the vehicle and found three Chinese females hiding under a blanket in the back seat. Vasquez, a 25-year-old citizen of Mexico, was arrested and the women were detained.

Agents returned to the drop house where they found an additional 29 border crossers from India, Ecuador, Brazil, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.

Officials say two additional suspected smugglers, Marcos Francisco-Salazar, 22, and Joaquin Santana, 27, both citizens of Mexico, were arrested at the drop house.

“While Arizona is the busiest human smuggling corridor in the United States, it is unusual to find citizens from so many different countries in the same drop house,â€

Did Mexico decide that they didn't have enough people to over run the U.S.

so they called in reinforcements for other countries to help?

3 men accused of human smuggling after drophouse bust

    by Colin Lecher - Jun. 18, 2010 10:33 PM
    The Arizona Republic

Authorities said three suspected human smugglers accused of bringing 32 illegal immigrants into the U.S. from eight countries made their first appearance in federal court Friday.

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement statement said agents discovered a suspected drophouse near 91st Avenue and Thomas Road late Wednesday night. Agents pulled over one suspect, Samual Antonio Vasquez, 25, as he was driving away from the drophouse, the ICE statement said. Three females believed to be from China were discovered in the backseat of the car. Agents arrested Vasquez, detained the three women and then entered the drophouse, the statement said.

Inside the home, agents found 29 more people from India, Ecuador, Brazil, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. Also found inside were human smuggling suspects Marcos Francisco-Salazar, 22, and Joaquin Santana, 27, the ICE statement said.

Authorities said the three suspects are believed to be Mexican citizens.

No wonder Arizona is upset! The whole world is using their state as a gateway to get in.

That area of town is called the Maryvale district. It is the most heavily populated Hispanic area of Phoenix and covers from I-10 to Glendale Road and 27th Avenue to around 99th Ave.

Maryvale is the busiest police precinct in all of Phoenix and is home to the greatest percentage of illegal aliens and smugglers and other criminal elements. Sheriff Arpaio conducts many of his crime supression sweeps in this area. I can guarantee you the one he has scheduled coming up the day after the new law takes affect will be in Maryvale.

Very rarely do you hear of drop houses in the Phoenix area having non-hispanic illegals found in them so even I, a 15 year resident of the Phoenix area take note of this and wonder if this is a clue that the smuggling cartels have expanded their operations to a much wider clentele base. Makes me wonder if they are looking to expand into the middle east and start smuggling more terrorist into the US.

Drop houses being discovered here is no longer big news as it is normal anymore to hear about it almost daily.

This is excalty what is going to happen if some thing isn't done. Even tho our so called president seems to be in love with Mexico, this if for no other reason, should be enough to protect our border. Nothing will be done though until the terrorists and the Mexicans do some thing horrible to our country.
