Omaha, NE - Several law enforcement agencies nabbed 36 gang members and gang associates Tuesday, along with 69 firearms.

The seized firearms included 14 assault rifles and a sniper rifle. A spokesman for ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) says the firearms were sold to a government informant, who told the gang members he planned to ship the firearms to Mexico's drug cartels.

Other weapons included 22 handguns, 16 shotguns and 17 rifles, including a Barrett .50-caliber sniper rifle. Agents also seized about $40,000 in cash and small amounts of cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and marijuana.

The suspects range in age from 18 to 45. All were arrested in Omaha.

ICE agents worked with the Omaha Police Department and the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) on the investigation and arrests.
