Montana officials want to prosecute Irish man

HELENA (AP) — Lewis and Clark County officials have issued an arrest warrant for an Irish man who police say wrote bad checks in Montana totaling more than $55,000 and then fled to Colorado.

Authorities also are seeking to extradite Kevin Barry McAuley from Colorado, where he was being held by federal officials following his arrest on Sept. 1 for being in the United States illegally. Late last week, he pleaded guilty in federal court in Colorado to that charge.
