40 Illegal Aliens Arrested At Palm Coast Construction Site
POSTED: 10:13 am EST November 16, 2006
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 40 undocumented workers at a condominium construction site in Palm Coast on Tuesday.
Agents said the illegal aliens, all men, were employed by various subcontracting companies working at the Ocean Towers construction site located on 3 Ocean Crest Drive.
Three of those arrested re-entered the country after being deported. Re-entry after deportation is a prosecutable felony that carries a possible 25-year prison sentence. Those three men are in U.S. Marshals custody awaiting prosecution by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
The remaining 37 men will be held in various detention facilities throughout Florida pending deportation for violating U.S. immigration laws.
“Companies that use cheap, illegal alien labor as a business model should be on notice,” special agent Robert Weber said. “ICE is dramatically enhancing its enforcement efforts against illegal employment schemes."
Those arrested are from Honduras, Brazil, El Salvador, Mexico and Peru.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Okay, why doesn't the article mention the arrest of the employers that hired the illegals. The problem will never be fixed until the employers are thrown in jail or their businesses closed down. A small fine is not going to do the job.

Kind of like arresting a drug user but letting the seller free.
Just another countless example of how upside down things are now in this country.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

In Florida, ICE is really going after them. In the last few weeks they picked up 390 out of their goal of 400 they were trying to get. They picked up some of cleaning people who worked in my condo complex. Construction sights is one of ICE's favorite as they always catch a large number of them. It is also due to the large number of people who get killed or injured due to lack of safety measures where illegals work.
I hope Donald Trump's projects are next on the list.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

What i want to know is why is this newsworthy? ICE could and should do this on a daily basis...

ICE does catch illegals on a daily basis but they usually don't get that many illegals on one jobsite.

Come to Oklahoma i can guarantee they'd catch that many every day for a couple of weeks and our problem is nowhere near what you could see in Dallas etc...

I can't recall ICE ever going after employers in CA. Anyone know otherwise??? They'd have so much to do they'd never be done.
