TUCSON, Ariz. - Five men carrying weapons and drugs are in custody after U.S. Border Patrol agents discovered more than 1,500 pounds of marijuana in an abandoned vehicle on the Tohono O'odham Reservation.

Agents working near the town of Arivaca, about 50 miles southwest of Tucson, encountered five men carrying three automatic rifles and two shotguns Tuesday night.

A Border Patrol Tucson Sector spokesman said the men were all from Mexico and were carrying six bundles of marijuana that weighed a total of nearly 300 pounds.

The men were arrested and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
