VILLAHERMOSA, Mexico — A gang of three 15-year-olds and two 17-year-olds have been caught after engaging in a running shootout with federal police in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez.

Federal police say packages containing 10 pounds of marijuana were found in the pickup truck the youths were traveling in.

The clash marks the latest chapter in the trend of police arresting ever-younger drug suspects.

Federal police said Wednesday the youths were speeding and tried to escape, pumping several rounds from a pistol into a police car before they were caught.

And in the Gulf coast state of Tabasco, police reported that two men dressed up in clown costumes had been found executed in the city of Cardenas, Tabasco.
