Don't jump off the bridge just yet. Jacobs was running against a 5 term incumbent that had a 2 to 1 financial edge and supporting calls from Mr. and Mrs. Bush. The fact that the race was this close sends a strong message to the pro amnesty types--they know that we are nipping at their heels.

Right on!! We may have lost this battle but we haven't lost the war yet!! There are other congressional races where we will win!! Let's re-group and fight on!!!

There was a Republican primary for Lt. governor in South Carolina-I believe-yesterday as well.

The incumbent, Brauer, won a close race.

Does anyone know if either one was anti-illegal immigration?

By the description, Brauer sounds like a Wall St. Journal, OBL type, although I could be mistaken.

His opponent was endorsed by Dubya's father, so I doubt that he would have been much better.

Anyone have good info on that race?

The thing that everyone needs to remember here is that this race was run in Utah. And for Jacob to get as many votes as he did, even with his slip-ups, was one hell of a feather in our side's cap.

What do I mean by "The race was run in Utah" you might ask, I have one word for you, Mormons. In Utah what the Mormon church wants it gets. And the Mormon church was 100 percent behind Cannon(even though they profess to stay out of politics). And unlike the Catholic church, most Mormons will do what the church tells them to do.

So I repeat, for Jacob to get as many votes as he did in Utah was one hell of a feat all by itself. Many thanks to the folks on our side need to go out for one hell of a job they did.

My advice to everyone is just keep fighting the fight because even though the MSM, The pro-Illegal Politicians and their supporters would have you believe we are losing, it's they that are losing and they are scared to death that Americans will see through their plans.

    Americans and America first, period!

Let's not forget that Bush and company pulled out all the stops for Cannon at the 11th hour. For goodness sakes, Laura was pushed front and center.

Also, Utah is big on Illegals. Mormon big business has opened the doors for cheap labor for well over 100 years.

I understand-and to a certain extent, agree-with all of your points.

He had the entire LDS apparatus-one of the largest, most well-heeled eccliastical organizations in this country-behind him, as well as every corporate behemoth dependent upon cheap, imported labor, in addition to LULAC, NCLR, and every other part of the Mexico first lobby-not to mention, the White House-supporting his candidacy.

Jacob was a political neophyte who made mistakes, not the least of which was his Chilean maid, which was reminiscent of the politically critical Michael Huffington debacle in 1994.

That being said, it's this type of outcome that reinforces the cynical attitudes of so many other Americans who are on our side. I know people who come from Argentina, and they are well-aware of how brutal and unvarnished politics really is.

The truth is that the politicians on Capitol Hill-and in the White House-couldn't care less about what is in America's interests, since they don't consider themselves Americans. They would transform this country into Mexico-or any other third world, highly stratified, benighted Latin American or Middle Eastern backwater-and are trying their best to accomplish that goal.

How do I explain to people who think this is a done deal-that our opinions mean nothing, and the ruling elites will do whatever they want, regardless of our input-that they are wrong, and that we are right, after an election like this?
