70 percent of the residents of the 11 neighborhoods of San Nicolas (State of Nuevo Leon, Mexico) who voted approve the town's plan to "armor-plate" its sector in order to fight insecurity.
The mayor of San Nicolas, Zeferino Salgado Almaguer, reported in a press conference after concluding the results, with 10 percent of the 23 thousand residents in the area voting, and 30 percent of them refusing the plan.
Eventhough the percentage of the "Yes" is greater to the "not", the mayor indicated that it is not a given that a fence of seven kilometers in lenght will be built next to the Talaverna river adjacent with the town of Guadalupe, therefore with these results he will meet again with the mayor of Guadalupe, Cristina DÃ*az and a group in order to make a decision.
The total number of votes in favor were 1331 and 637 against, that represents 10 percent of the electoral register of the 11 colonias (neighborhoods).
"To a large degree around 70 percent of the people do want the armor in their neighboohood and 30 percent would desire another form to improve their security", he assured.

Isn't it interesting to note there are Mexicans who realize that "fences do make good borders"?
