About 60 illegal immigrants found in condo, turned over to Border Patrol

CHULA VISTA - At least 60 illegal immigrants found in a two-story condominium were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol, an agent said Saturday.

Arrests were made in connection with the raid, said Wendi Lee, a senior Border Patrol agent.

Lee said she did not know how many were arrested, or their names.


Authorities found the illegal immigrants sometime Friday at the complex, on the 200 block of Rancho Court, Lee said.

It was part of a "drop-house" raid, authorities said.

The illegal immigrants were taken to the Border Patrol's processing facility in Chula Vista, Lee said.

Those found Friday who are Mexican nationals with no criminal record may voluntarily return to Mexico, but those with criminal convictions or people from countries other than Mexico will face formal deportation, Lee said.

And, you know they will! Such good illegals!

They should be deported out of this country. In made sure they can't get back in.

Voluntarily? You all think they will go voluntarily? I don't, I think they will have to be hunted down, as usual.

Maybe I can get them to do a drop house raid on my complex? If they did, there would pretty much be no one left, except us. Peace and quiet.

I'm surprised this happened at all in Chula Vista, which is about 5 miles from the border. Most illegals feel quite safe in this area.

I think what they are meaning here is some Mexicans will waive the deportation hearing. If they are deported by judges order they're under orders to not return to the U.S. for ten years by any means and face felonies if caught here again. It's a plea bargain. They will be bussed across the border for another try.

The whole thing with the detention center down in Texas where families are detained is at the criminal alien's request. All that could be avoided by just acknowledging that they are in the country illegally, accept responsibility for that, and accept "voluntary" deportation.

Those Mexicans aren't going to voluntarily return to Mexico. So I guess Chertoff's no more "catch & release" was all just another lie.

The Mexican nationals (Illegal Aliens) with no criminal record have the option to voluntarily return to Mexico without a hearing. All others, OTM's and Documented Criminals, must have a hearing and go before an Immigration Judge. With Mexicans the Federal Government just drives a bus to the border and drops them off. That is why so many Illegal Aliens from other South American Countries practice their Mexican Accent, so that they can get dropped off at the border and try again the next day.
