“Additionally, victims living in those communities could become reluctant to report crimes for fear that they would themselves become the target of an immigration investigation.
If they don't feel comfortable, do ya think they will leave??

Daniels also noted that Butler County’s initiative to force jail inmates to sign declarations of citizenship might violate the U.S. Constitution’s Fifth Amendment protection against self incrimination.
This is a load of crap. This information is collected at the state level. Why can't the Sheriff collect it also?

I did some quick research and found some numbers

    http://www.drc.state.oh.us/web/Reports/ ... um2004.pdf

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction did a comparison of 1994 and 2004 of their Alien Population. They did not break it down as to legal/illegal. Their total prison population comparison was of 1997 and 2001. The total of Aliens in the population was very small. The numbers were interesting but not too surpirsing.

    1997 Total Population - 47,166
2001 Total Population - 44,962 (Yes, total population going down! )

    1999 Alien Population - 258
    2004 Alien Population - 485 (An increase of 88% )

Want to guess where they are from??

2004's numbers included Aliens from 71 countries although there were 5 individuals that wouldn't identify their home country. Some top numbers:

    Mexico - 150 (31%)
Caribbean Islands -102 (21% and includes Jamacia, Dominican Republic and Cuba)
    Germany - 23
    Canada - 16
    El Salvador - 14
    China - 10

Our friends from south of the border (the ones we should embrace as neighbors....) made up 42% of the Alien population but committed 62% of the sex crimes that were committed by Aliens. Central and South America pretty much maxed out the numbers compared with the rest of the Aliens except for drug offenses where they tied it with our buddies from the Caribbean Islands.
