AG Holder: Court Challenge Possible On Immigration Law
AG: Court Challenge Possible On Immigration Law
Tuesday, 27 Apr 2010 03:46 PM
Attorney General Eric Holder says the federal government may challenge Arizona's new law on immigration.
The attorney general told reporters Tuesday that he fears Arizona's new law is subject to abuse.
At a news conference, Holder said that the Justice Department and the Homeland Security Department are in the midst of conducting a review of the state law.
The Arizona law requires state law enforcement officials to ask people for documentation if they are suspected to be in the country illegally.
The attorney general says a number of options are under consideration including the possibility of a court challenge.

Holder: U.S. May Fight Arizona Immigration Law
Arizona's New Law is Subject to Potential abuse, Attorney General Eric Holder Said Today
April 27, 2010
(AP) Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano were critical Tuesday of Arizona's new law on immigration and Holder said the federal government may challenge it.
Napolitano said the new state law could siphon federal money and staff from hunting down dangerous immigrants.
The critical comments by the nation's top law enforcement official and the Cabinet secretary responsible for preventing terrorist attacks on U.S. soil came four days after Arizona's governor signed a law designed to crack down on illegal aliens.
Arizona's new law is subject to potential abuse, Holder told a news conference. The law -- which takes effect this summer - allows police to question anyone about their immigration status if they have reason to suspect they are in the country illegally, and makes it a state crime if they are.
The Justice Department and the Homeland Security Department are reviewing the state law.
A number of options are under consideration including "the possibility of a court challenge," Holder said in response to questions on the Arizona law posed during a news conference on another topic.
Testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Napolitano said the office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement fears it will have to use its stretched resources to deal with those arrested under Arizona's new law.
"We have some deep concerns with the law .. it will detract from and siphon resources that we need to concentrate on those in the country illegally, those who have committed the most serious crimes," Napolitano said.
President Barack Obama has instructed the Justice Department to examine the Arizona law that he said last week threatens to "undermine basic notions of fairness." He also is pressing anew for national immigration legislation, saying, "If we continue to fail to act at a federal level, we will continue to see misguided efforts opening up around the country."

And why does DHS have stretched resources? Could it be mismanagement from Obama and Napolitano? Hell yes!

This is the same crooked corrupt Injustice Department Attorney General who convinced Clinton to release 17 convicted FALN terrorists who when released committed more terrorist acts. He dropped all charges against the 2 New Black Panthers using nightsticks to intimidate voters at a Philadelphia polling place.
What people don't realize is this law mirrors the federal law (1986 IRCA), specifically the 5th revision (1996) which grants authority to the states to carry out federal immigration laws. Federal law requires resident aliens to carry their green cards or other immigration documents especially if law enforcement officials ask for identification during a traffic stop or any other legal situation. There is no freedom without the law. Remember our veterans whose sacrifices allow us to live in freedom.

Don't know what they can do, since Arizona basically copied and pasted Federal Law. Guess that's why president soetoro is in such a panic... it's checkmate for him.
He called Arizona misguided, when it is the same Federal Laws he will not enforce.
Let's get an American President next time. We have not seen one of Soetoro's records, from school or military service (of course he has none there), even his elementary school records will help. He refuses to release any of them.
The greatest fraud perpetrated against the American people, and the intentional destruction lay in the hands of a foreign muslim named Barry Soetoro alias, Obama.

Unpatriotic Holder-1 of many in the administration
Attorney General Eric Holder has threatened legal action against SB 1070 which works hand in hand with federal law. He’s apparently unconcerned with the sanctuary city policies that expressly violate federal law by forbidding local authorities from cooperating with federal immigration officials. I guess Mr. Holder has discovered another group of foreigners he’d like to manufacture rights for. First it was terrorists now it’s illegal aliens. It’s funny he’s not so concerned about American’s rights. He had discussed taking away Second Amendment rights from US citizens in the interest of national security… the national security of Mexico that is. Once again another unpatriotic member of this administration is putting the desires of foreign nations and their citizens before the rights and security of the American people.

Holder needs to be tried as a traitor to the US Constitution.
Lets also remember, this man also would not investigate ACORN even after the videos came out last year.
