HESPERIA — The Victor Valley Airshow Association told a local Minutemen chapter Wednesday morning that they cannot have a booth at the annual airshow Saturday after an immigrant rights activist threatened to stage a protest.

“This is a distraction big time to the airshow,â€

I'm sorry, I'm missing why you won't support them? Is it because he said he's happy the show is still going on?

Raymond Herrera, national rally spokesman for the Minutemen, said he SUPPORT the airshow association’s decision.

He supports Hesperia activist Jennaya Dunlap from the national Immigrant Solidarity Network And not Desert Cities Minutemen

I just took it as him taking the high road so the show can go on without protests. Unless he has a history of supporting this other group?

We don't Minutemen bash on this forum.

I've met Raymond Herrera and he is a good and wise man. He's thinking about the community.
The air show is not their battle, but illegal immigration is.

They can spend their energy on other things.

This is a good example of how petty the opposition is.
They just want to strangle free speech and threaten to protest at a family event.

As the others have said, he does not support that teeny-bopper Jennaya Dunlap or the association, but the associations decision. He will pick his fights as related to illegal immigration. Have you read the comments on the story page? None in support, which is great to see.

I live in this area and I have written an email to everyone listed on the contact page for the Victor Valley Air Show Association telling them that it will be a cold day in Hell before they see any of my money or my family's money spent at this air show or any future ones the happen to put on!

That is the way i took it as well. I have met him before too, and I just don't see him betraying our side. That can't be what his comments were about.

Let me tell you, Ray Herrera is more of a Patriot that most people here. While protesting against a day labor center, he had his foot run over by a goon's car. Since he is of Mexican descent, he has to endure calls of "race traitor" by the invaders. He is a US military vet and wears his US Army hat wherever he goes. He must have a good reason for supporting the air shows decision.

I remember that too. I don't know him personally, but we frequent the same events, and I have never witnessed or heard any issues about his conduct or his stance illegal immigration.
