New announcements in spectacular of a television channel in Spanish, in the area of the Angels, are causing the wrath of activists whom they love to end undocumented immigration.

Some people are just dumb.You can't order a whopper here in less than 5 minutes anymore because they don't speak English.At one particular BK it got to the point where I'd have to make my order in both English and Spanish.They'd still get it wrong.Since I couldn't find any flash cards that had to do with fast food I just stopped going.

OH I understand....but this illustrates doesn't it the importance of the learning the language of a society in which you are a citizen or planning to become a citizen. This whole concept of a "bilingual workforce" is dangerous. No employer will know what the worker didn't know as a result of language issues.....until it's too late.

It's just ridiculous...."bilingual work force".

I mean....you could end of with cream of parsley soup garnished with a sprig of broccoli.

Bi-lingual would indicate you could speak 2 languages.

Correct.....and I think that isn't ever gonna happen...we'll have planes falling apart, bridges collapsing, too much salt in the soup, and a million calamities in our industries and in our businesses and lets not forget our government attempting a bilingual work force in the United States.

And we already know the BeanHeads in government can't get it straight with ONE language!!

Alaska Airlines (and the fire tankers currentlygrounde in Ca. as of last week) were shut down because they're planes were falling apart.They are now checking the Bay Bridge between San Francaisco and Oakland for shoddy welding because it may fall apart.Go by ANY construction site (even union ones where you 'have' to be legal) and guess who the majority of the workers are going to be?

it's already happened;Alaska airlines was shut down becuase their planes were falling apart in midair.The tanker planes used to fight forrest fires were all grounded indefinitely last weak because they were falling apart in midair.The San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge is being checked for crucial faulty welding.
Go by any work being done here and guess who's doing it?You got it.Even at union sites were you're supposed to be "legal" there's nothing but illegals.

rickesteves--thanks for sharing that!! It is to be expected. Anyone who's been in management and running an operation, then YOU KNOW what I'm talking about! This bilingual work force notion is very dangerous and why any major corporation would want to pursue it to hire illegals is:

What is it they hope to gain in the long-run that outweighs the immediate and obvious threat to accurate and correct workmanship??

It really makes no sense at all on the part of our educational institutions, government officials and especially business.

Switzerland is multilingual and it's one of the richest countries in the world.

Singapore is multilingual and it's one of the richest countries in the region.

But what would happen if an American TV station put up a billboard in Ensenada, Rosarito or Cancun; trying to attract expatriate viewers? What if it said "Cancun" then had "Quintana Roo" crossed out & USA written on top?

Anyone who put up a billboard like that in Mexico would be jailed, then deported.
